Arcane Feats [Archive] - Wizards Community

07-12-06, 01:23 PM I'm making a gestalt level 20 sorcerer and have two feats left to choose. pretty much the build goes like this:

Gloura 3(I love this race)
Monk 15 (for saves, defense etc.)
Master of the Unseen Hand 5 (just for fun with telekenesis)
Sorcerer 7
Elemental savant 10 (the pluses to DC are unbeatable)

Some feats I already have are:

Spell Penetration, Greater Spell Penetration, Eshew Materials, Weapon Finesse (unarmed--does this work?), Practiced Spellcaster, Quicken Spell, Empower Spell, Fortify Spell, Arcane Disciple (healing domain), Energy Substitution (Electricity)

I'm looking for some hard core feats that will aid my sorcerer in pretty much any way. I already have great spell penetration and my caster level is pretty high, but I'm sure more couldn't hurt. But I think I want something that might help with damage or attacks (touch etc.) Any advice would be much appreciated! Thanks!

In any event, why have you chosen Metamagic feats for your sorcerer? Most of the time are not that good since they are a full-round action to use. Quicken-spell does not work for sorcerers. Also, your caster level isn't high for such an epic campaign, it is only 23 for a level 40 character. Even with the Spell Penetration feats that is only a +29 on Spell Resistance checks for a level 40 character, I hope you have other plans than relying on spells to combat your epic enemies with 50+ spell resistance.

P.S. Aren't anyone playing level 10 characters anymore?

Pst! He stated in the first sentance that this was a gestalt charater...

Although there are some problems with his character....for one, a Gloura's ECL is 9, not 3.

That said, it would be beneficial to us if the OP listed his levels in the standard gestalt layout, something like this:

Gloura LA 1//Sorcerer 1
Gloura LA 2//Sorcerer 2
Gloura HD 1//Sorcerer 3
Gloura HD 2//Sorcerer 4
Gloura HD 3//Sorcerer 5
Gloura HD 4//Sorcerer 6
Gloura HD 5//Sorcerer 7
Gloura HD 6//Elemental Savant 1
Gloura HD 7//Elemental Savant 2
Monk 1//Elemental Savant 3
Monk 2//Elemental Savant 4
etc....

Or even just this: Gloura 9/Monk 2//Sorcerer 7/Elemental Savant 4

Although, I don't see why you would gimp yourself by only getting 16 sorcerer caster levels. I'd build it so I got 20 sorcerer caster levels, and put Master of the unseen hand opposite levels in Sorc.
