| XrP-Leon The Second08-25-05, 06:17 PM | Ok, this guy's pretty cool, remember, he's a BBEG, not a PC. Grey Elf Level BAB Class Abilities/Feats 1 .75 Druid1 "Animal Companion", "Nature Sence", Wild Empathy", ~Silent Spell~ 2 1.50 Drd2 "Woodland Stride" 3 2.25 Drd3 "Trackless Step", ~Practiced Spellcaster (Druid)~ 4 2.75 Drd3/Elf Wizard1 "Generalist Wizardry*" 5 3.25 Drd3/Wiz2 -- 6 3.75 Drd3/Wiz3 ~Practiced Spellcaster (Wizard)~ 7 4.25 Drd3/Mystic Thurge1 -- 8 5 Drd3/Wiz3/MT1/Arcane Herophant1 "Companion Familiar", "Ignore Arcane Spell Failure", Wild Shape" 9 5.75 Drd3/Wiz3/MT1/AH2 ~Wild Spell~ 10 6.50 Drd3/Wiz3/MT1/AH3 -- 11 7.25 Drd3/Wiz3/MT1/AH4 "Channel Animal 2/day" 12 8 Drd3/Wiz3/MT1/AH5 ~Draconic Wild Shape~ 13 8.75 Drd3/Wiz3/MT1/AH6 "Channel Plant 1/Day" 14 9.50 Drd3/Wiz3/MT1/AH7 -- 15 10.25 Drd3/Wiz3/MT1/AH8 "Channel Animal 4/day", ~FEAT~ 16 11 Drd3/Wiz3/MT1/AH9 -- 17 11.75 Drd3/Wiz3/MT1/AH10 "Channel Plant 2/day" 18 12.25 Drd3/Wiz3/AH10/MT2 ~FEAT~ 19 12.75 Drd3/Wiz3/AH10/MT3 -- 20 13.25 Drd3/Wiz3/AH10/MT4 -- 1 extra 1st level spell, one extra spell at highest level. Also, you have a caster level of 17 for divine and arcane, with wildshaping of a 13th level druid (and an item increases this by 3-5) so.. pretty cool, eh? |
| slade_caizer08-25-05, 06:21 PM | You have to take Mystic Theurge 2 before going into Arcane Heirophant. If you don't, you won't meet the BAB requirement of 4. Of course if you're actually allowed to use that fractional BAB, then it won't matter. |
| XrP-Leon The Second08-25-05, 06:31 PM | Yes, we use fractional :P Since I posted it in the level by level as fractional (Well, decimal) I thought y'all'd catch on :P But, thanks for bringing it up. Yes, fractional. |
| XrP-Leon The Second08-26-05, 08:07 PM | Le-hem. Exibit A, the bump: :bump: |
| ccubed08-26-05, 08:44 PM | You might replace Wiz3 with Mindbender 1 from Complete Arcane for free Telepathy. Useful if you intend to Wildshape much. |
| RogerWilco08-26-05, 08:48 PM | This might be of interest to you: http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=491119 |
| XrP-Leon The Second08-26-05, 09:54 PM | That's not the way I interperated the words. The druid3/wiz3 still works. And I'll check out the MB |
| Namarus08-26-05, 10:40 PM | You could try fitting in 1 level of beastmaster, along with maybe 2 levels of Divine Oracle. Druid 3/Wiz1/Divine Oracle 2/Beastmaster1/AH X Take feats including natural bond, Practised Caster (both), Improved Initiative. You coudl also consider taking extra domains via arcane disciple, this would allow you to add another 6 spells, preferably cleric spells to your list. Shield other is a good one for sharing with your pet. Since he is the BBEG, you can ensure that your pet is and you are fully buffed when they encouter the PCs. You could even at higher levels cast stuff like Transformation on the pet, and let it rock and roll in combat, along with doing other sorts of stuff. Thorncoat, chill touch, along with other things would make the pet your main melee support. You can also spontanous summon additional minons, and group regen your minons in fights with mass vigour spells. You would have evasion, even wearing medium armour. |
| XrP-Leon The Second08-27-05, 12:30 AM | Yes, but I had him for spell power, and with that build his versatility and spell levels go down.. |
| Alratan08-27-05, 07:34 AM | Mindbender 1 is amazing in combination with the mindsight feat from LoM - as noted in another thread atm |
| Lilt08-27-05, 10:25 AM | Depending on what level you're playing at, I might consider going Druid 4. It slows your casting down, but gives you better wildshape which may allow you to hit a better wildshape breakpoint (IE: large creatures with 8HD if you're playing at level 11). This is even more important if the character is a BBEG as he's probably never going to advance, but probably less worth it if it means losing the next level of arcane spells. |
| XrP-Leon The Second08-27-05, 01:31 PM | This is a BBEG, and he will live from about 3rd to the early 20th levels, so I want the casting to be at it's prime for as long as possible, so no druid 4, since he wouldn't get 9th level arcane spells until level 21. Which book is mindbender in? Comeplete Arcane? |
| XrP-Leon The Second08-27-05, 01:34 PM | Unfortunately, I won't be able to qualify for mindbender until after my 3 levels of Wu Jen. If you look at the requirements, it will force me to loose my 9th level divine spells. He has to be an arcane caster level 5. That means Wu Jen 3 + Mystic Thurge 2, and I don't think taht his abilities, while nice, are worth 9th level divine spells. |

| XrP-Leon The Second08-27-05, 01:39 PM | That ups it for things like class requirements? Wow, I neve knew that... Ok, so which is better? Telepethy (Ala Mindbender) or Spell Secret (Ala level 3 Wu Jen) I thnk the Wu Jen is better..... but I might be wrong. (Edit) What's LoM? Lords of Maddness? I don't have that one....(done edit) |
