| Dark Watcher09-20-05, 04:13 AM | I recently got my hands on Races of the Wild and noticed the very interesting class: Arcane Hierophant. It also has stiffer requirements to get into than Mystic Theurge - Base Attack Bonus: +4, Knowledge (Arcana) 8 ranks, Knowledge (Religion) 8 ranks, 2nd-level arcane spells, 2nd-level divine spells, and the trackless step class feature. The only way I can see to get into this class as early as possible is either Druid4/Wizard3 - Druid3/Wizard4 or Druid3/Sorcerer4? Due to the odd BAB requirement, it's forcing me to take an extra, rather dead level of a class that I'd rather not. Any insights, tricks, other classes that can be used to get into Arcane Hierophant at 6th (like Mystic Theurge) or sooner? Another question - where should one go after filling out all ten levels of Arcane Hierophant? Two more levels of druid will allow you to wildshape into Huge creatures, and I'm curious if that is worth it, or would it be better to jump into Mystic Theurge or some other prestige class? Druid4/Wizard3/Arcane Heirophant10 will give 14 levels of druid casting and wildshaping, meaning I could take Druid5 at 18th level to get Wildshape (Huge). That'll leave me with 8th-level druid spells and 7th-level arcane spells with only two more levels to go, though. It'll also leave me with a poor BAB of +11 at 18th level, since Druid5 doesn't get an increase. I'm at a loss. |
