I am wanting to build a normal archer character, but I want to focus on being able to do damage from a distance (the greater the distance the better). Also a secondary emphasis on trick shots (over trees, over walls, etc).

Pretty much all prestige classes (and all books allowed).
Also suggestions on equipment and magic to boost the distance would be appreciated.
Give me some stats on the actually distance that he would be capable of shooting from.

I am pretty open to race, and class but I do tend to prefer humans.

We start at 10th level so help me create that, but I would also like to see the progression of the character in future levels. At least up to 20th and perhaps more if you are willing to go into epic.

THanks

Without going into too much detail, for PrC distance you'll be wanting levels of Cragtop Archer (Races of Stone) and Deepwood Sniper (Masters of the Wild); as far as equipment try a Dragonbone (Draconomicon) Greatbow (Complete Warrior)

Here's the Farthest Ranged Attack (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=294882) thread. I dont think its been updated in awhile tho. (record holds at 42,375 feet.)

I think there is a major misconception in that thread... they are assuming that the distance magical property alters the base range of the bow. I don't think this is the case and the range with distance should not be used when calculating the other modifiers.

For simplicity's sake... I just want some clairification using this example:

Far Shot feat
+1 Longbow of Distance

Is the range increment 250 ft or 300 ft?

Longbow: 100 ft
Distance: +100 ft
Far Shot: +50 ft
Total: 250 ft

or

Longbow: 100 ft
Distance: +100 ft
Bow Range: 200 ft
Far Shot: +100 ft
Total: 300 ft

This THREAD (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?p=4545809#post4545809) answered the question for me.

Doesn't Far Shot DOUBLE your range increment? If so, then it is the latter.

Doesn't Far Shot DOUBLE your range increment? If so, then it is the latter.Far Shot doubles the range increments of thrown weapons, but only increases it by 50% for projectile weapons.

Far Shot doubles the range increments of thrown weapons, but only increases it by 50% for projectile weapons.
Then it is the former.
