Hey all, i'm pretty new and this is my first post here

this is my idea for a char i'm playing now: any suggestions / feedback would be great

i wanted to get a pumped archer, first looked through ranger, but the benefits of fighter feats seemed to outweigh the ranger benefits, and came across 2 different PrC's that pumped crits in different ways that seemed to stack nicely

the other guys in my party are a fighter (melee), barbarian, rouge and druid,

human
Fighter 6 / Deepwood sniper 7 (masters of the wild) / weapon master (sword and fist) 7

1 - F 11 - W
2 - F 12 - W
3 - F 13 - W
4 - F 14 - W
5 - F 15 - W
6 - F 16 - S
7 - S 17 - S
8 - S 18 - S
9 - W 19 - S
10 - W 20 - S

i talked to my DM and he said that as it would be an archer, instead of whirlwind as a prereq for weapon master, i could have manyshots as the prereq, and possibly something similar for expertise:

my build idea was:
(lvl 4):
Weapon Focus (composite longbow), point blank shot, rapid shot, Dodge, Mobility, Combat reflexes
Feats to get lvl 6:
Far shot, Many shot
Feat to get lvl 9:
Expertise (or equiv)
Feat to get lvl 12:
Power Critical (complete warrior)
Feat to get lvl 15:
Improved critical
Feat to get lvl 18:
Shot on the run
but i wasn't really sure about shot on the run at lvl 18,
possibly a second level of power critical at lvl 18

using a composite longbow, by lvl 20 its a 1/4 chance to crit (ki critical, improved crit, keen arrows) , and the crit multiplyer is 5x and 3 times a day is 6x which seems pretty good hehe :)

any ideas . suggesttions, criticisms would be more than welcome :) thanks

This makes me think that you and your DM are aware of it already, but just to make sure, you do know that the Weapon Master PrC is for melee weapons only, correct? More power to you if your DM has ruled otherwise; just wanted to make sure you are aware.

Lastly, check out the Archer Build Thread linked in my sig; Ranger can be pretty handy...

Improved Crit and Keen don't stack.

Improved Crit and Keen don't stack.

I'm pretty sure they in 3.0 they do. And I assume that if Sword and Fist and Master of the Wild are being used as sources than this is a 3.0 campaign.

Personally I've always thought that the deepwood sniper should be made 3.5 compatible by adding some text saying that those particular crit bonuses DO stack, seeing as it is the entire focus of the class. Yes that makes it powerful, but not unbalanced, seeing as it is only powerful in that one niche (crtical hits on ranged attacks). Force the sniper to only make 1 shot around with the crit bonuses and it's perfectly in tune with the class idea.

But I digress... yeah, pretty sure the bonuses stack in 3.0, correct me if I'm wrong. :)
