Just coming up with more interesting archer characters. This one is the crusading theurge.

[[Note: I know that this could just as easily (or in fact more easily) be done as a standard Sorcerer/Ur-Priest/theurge, but I wanted to stray away from Ur-Priest.]]

Elf, Sorcerer 6/Incantatrix 3/Divine Crusader 1/Sacred Exorcist 2/Mystic Theurge 8

1. Sorc 1 - Extend Spell
2. Sorc 2
3. Sorc 3 - Iron Will
4. Sorc 4 -
5. Sorc 5 -
6. Sorc 6 - WF (Longbow)
7. Incantatrix 1 - Persistent Spell*
8. Incantatrix 2 -
9. Sacred Exorcist 1 - Arcane Strike
10. Divine Crusader 1 -
11. Sacred Exorcist 2 -
12. Mystic Theurge 1 - Divine Might
13. Mystic Theurge 2 -

Chooses the Competition domain with Divine Crusader

Altogether...

Casts as lv18 sorcerer (lv9 spells) and a lv10 Divine Crusader (domain spells from the Competition domain). The BAB is fairly sorry, but persistent Divine Power can handle that fairly well. I don't have my CArc on me, so I don't have the text on Wraithstrike to see if it can apply to ranged weapons, but if it can that's another key.

Key points of this build:

-Arcane Strike and Divine Might, for obvious reasons (both do well with the sorcerer, who should have a Cha of around 34 by lv20 and quite a few spells to feed into Arcane Strike)
-Divine Meta casting on the Crusader spell list
-The Competition domain, which allows for lots of juicy spells like Divine Power, Righteous Might, Greater Visage of the Deity, etc.

Things I'd like to work on:
-Saves could be better. I'd like to work in some way to get Cha to saves - 2 levels of Prestige Paladin, over a level of Sacred Exorcist and Incantatrix, would do it. But then my caster level as a Sorc would drop to 17, not enough for lv9 spells. On the other hand, it would give me lots of other bonuses, but overall probably not worth it.
-Incantatrix levels are doing nothing. I took them because they're better than straight Sorc levels, and the requirement feat (Iron Will) allows for the free Metamagic feat, which I needed to take anyways. So, I get a free Iron Will out of the deal, and the first three levels of Incantatrix goodies, which are okay but not spectacular. Ideas of something to go over those levels, or ways to better utilize what I have, would be nice.
-Horrid BAB! If I'm up against something with a lot of Dispels, I'm toast with that lovely BAB of +10.

thoughts/comments/advice?

(Also looking at it now, the same could be done with a human, replacing Incantatrix with Ruathar, although IMO it wouldn't be as good, and ordering of the feats would be a lot harder, since the required WF (Longbow) wouldn't be able to be taken until lv9 min)

Not too shabby. Elegant archer. Good domain choice, too.

My big question is "Why Sorcerer?" If this character went Wizard, you'd have the level-flexibility to add in Prestige Paladin for saves-enhancement and the spell-choice flexibility to make up for the woeful limitations of scope imposed by the Divine Crusader.

For a lot of reasons, really. Wizard has far fewer spell slots to play with for things like Arcane Strike, and would hit me with MAD up the wazoo - I'd need a minimum Int and Wis to maintain my casting (and if I just went with the minimum Int, I wouldn't even really have any spare spells for Arcane Strike), Dexterity for attacks, and Cha for feeding the Divine Meta monster, not to mention Divine Might.

I did think of wizard for a little while, but decided against it. Maybe I'll put together a sample build of each on various point buy systems and see how they stack up...

How are you getting the +7 BAB needed for divine crusader?

Try Battlesorcerer8/PrC2/divinecrusader1/sacredexoricst1/mystictheurge8. Just make sure the Prc you take has the knowledge class skills you need for sacred exorcist.
