Last I heard, they called that the Cleric class....

No, seriously, I doubt anyone has.
Although I like the concept of the Archivist, it starts at level one far, far behind the cleric and begins playing catch-up.
People drool over the possiblility of potential spell access at higher levels. If that materializes, (it may well not) it can be a potent spellcaster.
Combining the Archivist's effort to actually ACQUIRE the spells, his lower BAB/HPS/AC in a gish build (the wizard BAB really hurts)....I can't see what an Archivist could bring.
Cleric Gish would just be better, period.

Fighter 2/Archivist 8/Fist of Raziel 10? That requires being exalted though.

Archivist-based sacred exorcist with divine metamagicked persistent spells? Won't be so great until level 9, though.

If you don't mind giving up a caster level, I suppose you could take a level of cleric, getting divine metamagic and heavy armor proficiency by 3rd level, and possibly a martial weapon proficiency or something. Then you can otherwise advance as an archivist, and get all the goodies like dark knowledge (dread secret) and the like.

It's a bit strange: arcane prestige classes have classes that advance caster level and BAB at a roughly one-for-one rate, giving up a caster level or two (eldritch knight, knight phantom). Divine prestige classes seem much more reluctant to give full BAB and something like full spellcasting progression, even though divine casters generally start with 3/4 BAB, so it would be a smaller jump than from 1/2 BAB. I think it might have something to do with arcane spell failure keeping arcane gishes in line or soemthing.

Well, if you're playing in a group where the DM will let you have just about any divine spells, Archivist is definitely worth playing. In any case, I haven't found any handbook for it either, and I've been looking for help as well :(
