I'm playing the wizard in our next campaign, and I was looking for a good all-around build. I like Wizard5/Incantatrix10/Archmage5, because it's nice and simple, and flavorful at that (I also hear it's got some punch too). Any suggestions on feats for said build, and which three schools I should give up?

I have all the core material, the Complete Arcane, Draconomicon, ECS.

Also, is the Incantatrix heavily based in Faerun? The campaign is going to be Eberron, so any ideas on adaptation?

Don't give up 3 schools. Just be a generalist wizard and drop one school for Incantatrix. I'd suggest Enchantment. Alot of creatures are naturally immune to most of that school, and at the higher levels the ones who aren't will be running around with Mind Blank on them. I'd also say that it is no longer worth taking all 5 levels of Archmage. I'd take at most 2 or 3 now.

Initiate of the Seven-Fold Veil seems to be a popular (and powerful I hear) PrC lately. You might look at using some combo of it and Incantatrix, instead of Incantatrix/Archmage.

Well, if the DM is gonna let you play an incantatrix in eberron, go for it.

I would, as a DM. But I'd also let someone use a thought bottle or play a half-black dragon/half fire elemental troll.

Here's a build
Elf (try for one of the elves that get a bonus to Int, like the Sun Elf).
1st level, take the elven wizard substitution from Races of the wild.
2-5, normal Wizard. Meet the Pre-reqs for Incantatrix.
6-15, Incantatrix.

The last 5 levels are all yours. Add in stuff like Geometer or Archmage. For geometer, you could throw a couple levels in to break up the Incan. progression, but that would slow the acquisition of improved metamagic, which you should get as early as possible.

Good feats would be Collegiate Wizard, MetaMagic Feats you like and/or find useful, possibly double wand weilder (as you can apply metamagic to wands if you have the appropriate craft feat). The Issue with DWW is that your DM might not allow you to use MM on both wands at the same time.

Chain spell is a great feat for buffing and blasting, and it's awesome when you can chain a greater magic weapon spell to hit everyone's primary and backup weapons, as well as ammunition.

If you have another spellcaster in the party, you can chain/twin/maximize/etc. their spells without burning any of your own spell slots as early as 7th level. Just pump your spellcraft score as high as possible and don't ever look back. Buy or make an item that gives a bonus to spellcraft. Get insight, competence, luck, sacred, etc. bonuses and stack them.
