| Auldar07-21-06, 01:26 AM | I'd like to get your interpretation on the Arctic Dwarf as defined in Unearthed Arcana.. With regards to it's stat modifiers, the start of the description indicates it has "all the normal dwarf traits with the following additions and exceptions". The only "exception" listed is in fact that kobolds replace orcs as one of the races they get +1 bonus to attack with. This leads me to believe the stats defined are *in addition* to the normal Dwarf stat mods, in much the same way as Wood Elf stats are in addition to the normal elf stats. ie it's not +2 str, +2 con, -4 dex, -2 cha It in fact would be: +2 str, +4 con, -4 dex, -4 cha It's one ugly stocky dwarf, but I'm angling for Deepwarden so can live without the dex.. |

| Auldar07-21-06, 01:49 AM | Ah - there's a blurb at the start of the "Environment Racial Variants" section that states that all stat modifiers supercede the base creatures, but all other racial features are kept, unless specifically replaced. Bummer :P |
