| mesix03-21-06, 04:57 AM | I have some questions for monk prestige classes: 1. Are there any classes (other than the sacred Fist) who stack with monk levels for the purpose of unarmed damage while granting good BaB? 2. Are there any prestige classes not only increasing unarmed damage, AC-Bonus and unarmored speed but the flurry ability as well (I am not sure how to read the Oriental Adventures classes in 3.5) 3. Are there any PrC or Feats allowing a monk to strike unarmed at range with his Ki abilities (as seen in several movies and existent in several other RPGs). Thanks mesix ;) |

Are there any classes (other than the sacred Fist) who stack with monk levels for the purpose of unarmed damage while granting good BaB? Not in any 3.5 source that I've seen, but I have not seen Stormwrack, the "Heros Of" series, anything Psionic or BOED. 2. Are there any prestige classes not only increasing unarmed damage, AC-Bonus and unarmored speed but the flurry ability as well (I am not sure how to read the Oriental Adventures classes in 3.5) I have never seen a PRC that actually advanced flurry, ever. Monk11 seems to be the only way to get improved flurry. But I am not familiar with the 3.0 sources. 3. Are there any PrC or Feats allowing a monk to strike unarmed at range with his Ki abilities (as seen in several movies and existent in several other RPGs). Yes. Two that I know of. Sandstorm has a monk feat that lets you swap a stunning fist attempt to get extraordinary reach (and another that does an area effect stunning fist, and a third that kinda gives you improve grab. If you like monks, check out Sandstorm). Spell Compendium has a L1 spell on both cleric and wizard lists that lets the targeted person do a full attack with unarmed strike or natural weapon as if it was a ranged weapon. (range close I think, but can't remember). If you are looking at sacred fist, arcane fist or have a friendly spellcaster handy, might want to check this out. I believe it is swift action, so the opportunity cost isn't so high you can't sometimes get your caster to carry the spell. Sadly I'm blanking on the name of the spell, but I think it is late in the alphabet :) |
| Khazra Reborn03-21-06, 03:45 PM | Though it doesnt stack with monk damage, the warshaper prc has full BaB and makes your natural attacks 1 size bigger. That makes unarmed damage at 20 3D8, on average 2.5 higher then a monk20. changeling Monk16/warshaper4 is simple and awesome. 6 attacks/round (9 with TWF), immunity to SAs/crits, +5ft reach, +4str/con, fast healing. The spinmeld warrior from magic of incarnum has full BaB, monk progressions and even gets some sole melding abilities. However you have to mutliclass to get into it unless you take racial sub levels for skarn monk. However, monk11/spinemled warrior9 is among the most powerful offensive monks out there IHMO. |
| Gehenna03-21-06, 03:56 PM | Warshaper does NOT have full BAB...although I personally think it should. ;) |
| Khazra Reborn03-21-06, 04:04 PM | Really...i could of sworn it did...oops! The savage from darksun gives 2 size increases in 9 levels (but no progression), full BaB and D12HD. monk11/savage9 does 3D8 damage and has 18BaB. If your loking for a monk tank type its the way to go IHMO. |
| Rokku03-21-06, 04:32 PM | The Disciple of the Eye from Races of the Dragon improves Flurry, as does the Sun Soul Monk from Waterdeep. Neither gives full BAB though. The crowning glory of all monk PRCs is of course the Shou Disciple. The accepted conversion is that anything which increases monk BAB in 3.0 increases flurry in 3.5, though I'm not sure if that's actually official. Anyway if you run it that way the Shou Disciple (from Unapproachable East) is the king of all Monk PrCs, giving full BAB, 5 levels of damage and flurry, the ability to flurry with all martial weapons and 2 bonus feats. |
| solbergb03-21-06, 04:43 PM | Warshaper does NOT have full BAB...although I personally think it should. ;) Nature's warrior might be better, (it has a +3 dmg to all nat weapon option and is full BAB) but the entry reqs are a ***** (tracking, big survival and kn skill requirements and of course some way of wildshaping/shapeshifting) |

| runestar03-22-06, 07:13 AM | Not really a monk prc, but the thayan gladiator from champions of ruin is nice for enhancing your own unarmed strikes. :) |
