| Encard09-28-05, 05:58 PM | I would say yes... Off the top of my head, Greater Manyshot is the key to just about any ranged Scout build, and it works especially well if combined with the Splitting weapon enhancement (from Champions of Ruin) and some Radiant Holding ammo (from Magic of Faerun). For stealth, the Darkhunter feat (from Lords of Madness) may be worthwhile. A straight Scout 20 build works pretty well - if you want to you can add in some levels of a full BAB class and bump your number of Greater Manyshot attacks up, but that'll be at the expense of several nifty abilities, so the choice is yours. I remember there being a fair number of threads on this, so someone can probably give you a link with more detailed info... |

| Bonzai09-29-05, 10:48 AM | I've been really wanting to make a scout. I look at them as sort of an out door rogue. They find traps, sneak around, and skirmish is kind of their version of sneak attack. I love the concept. Overall, not a bad class, and it gets decent rewards through all 20 levels. Most though try to optimize their skirmish damage, maybe something like Ranger 2/warrior 2/Scout 1/Dervish 10/Tempest 5. Or something similar. |
| Illithid1309-29-05, 11:39 AM | Is there a scout hand book in the works? I to am a fan of the class and am egearly anticipating playing one. (only reason I chose a necro over the scout is that the DM ok'd a build that I knew not every DM would) I've got a shifter/scout build that I like quite a bit, but I'm still trying to figure out other combos of the class. Any other ideas other than the one above? |
