| GraveDigger01-10-07, 09:21 PM | Warmage...Warmage...Hmm is this class actually worth it over wizard, sorc, or another class type? I enjoy the idea of battle field control and firing off spells in full plate adamantium armor. But is it truly worth it? And the reason I ask is because a friend of mine wants myself and another person along with himself to make four lvl20 characters. I was thinking maybe one lvl20 warmage, one lvl20 cleric, one lvl20 druid, one level 20 warlock. PRC's are open along with multi classing, what are the thoughts of the group? |
| Edea01-10-07, 09:28 PM | If your GM considers text to trump table, Warmage/Rainbow Servant is 100% worth it. If he doesn't, I'd say don't play a Warmage, there are other ways of making casting in armor easier without sacrificing 7 schools' worth of spells available, and damage dealing is not the 'best' main function of an arcane spellcaster (bet that one sounds a wee bit off, but it's true). |
| Bill Bisco: Average Adventurer01-10-07, 09:29 PM | The bonus damage that Warmages get is not worth it. They are denied all the useful utility spells such as fly and improved invisibility, not to mention polymorph, alter self, and all the other goodies. Sorcerors as disadvantaged as they are, are better than Warmages. If you're going to be level 20, be a Wizard ;) It's great. You can take over the world before breakfast. |
