I'm playing a Sorc(With 5th level substitution from Planar Handbook, Force Charged Energy)/Argent savant, I'm also using Eldrich Knight via the forgotten realms Militia feat to augment his attack rolls (he's a ray specialist) I've in this build lost two caster levels I don't really want to lose more.

Build is Sorc 6/Eldrich Knight X/Argent Savant 5
x= Character level -11, Minimum 5, at this point he's level 17 currently so 6
Feats are
1 Militia, Point Blank Shot
3 Weapon Focus (Ranged Touch Spell)
6 Ranged Touch Spell Specialization
7 Percise Shot
9 Split Ray
12 Practiced Spellcaster (Sorc)
15 Improved Critical (Ranged Touch Spells)

@18 my plan is Improved Percise Shot.

Key spells are
Bigbys (Forceful, Interposing, Grasping)
Death Throes (From Planar Handbook)
Force Cage
Mage Armor, Greater (Complete Arcane)
Magic Missile (No really, I've had to hit things with such a high AC it was my best option, w/barred forcecage it's fun to shoot ducks)
Orb of Force (Split ray makes this SMOOTH)(Complete Arcane)
Scorching Ray (With the substitution level it becomes half force damage, gains force descriptor)
Shield
Sword of Deception (Complete Arcane)
Tensors Floating Disk
Wall of Force

Any tweeking people would suggest?

Just one note:

Split Ray doesn't work with Orb of Force. Orb of Force is not a ray spell. Hence, Split Ray is a waste for you (it'd be useful with Scorching Ray only). Force spells hold a very small number of rays. Of course, with that substitution level, you could easily go ahead and grab ray spells with different energy descriptors, but keep in mind that you won't be dealing only Force damage.

Also, Ranged Spell Specialization is a waste. One feat for +2 damage is a bad choice of a feat. Your substitution level, combined with the first Argent Savant ability will provide much, much more.

You should make a list of all the Force spells you'll be taking that actually require for you to use a ranged touch attack.

Other advice:

• Empower Spell is a much more useful feat for you, rather than Split Ray, unless a good part of your arsenal consists of ray spells.

• Since you're taking Improved Critical, you might want to consider Power Critical, as well.

• Ditch the Focus and Specialization. You're wasting two feats.

I suggest Fell Drain (LM) as a good feat for any mage focusing on damage spells. I think Power Critical is a waste of time in general, and is a particular waste of time for a character using ranged touch attacks (since you should easily hit most targets).

Are you sure the Planar Sorcerer/Argent Savant thing would work? The Planar Sorcerer substitution level doesn't specifically say that the spells gain the Force descriptor. It would only make sense that they did seeing as how half the damage becomes Force based, but it still doesn't specifically state that.

I think this is one of those "ask your DM beforehand" questions.
