I'm building a 10th level cleric/dweomerkeeper. I should have around 50k gold to play with.

I have 16 str 16 dex and 18 wis.

I would like to know some good armor/items configurations that would benefit me most.

I've seen the recent "Best armor in the game" thread and while they seemed to produce great results the costs are much too high for me to go for right now.

Well, unless you suddenly get a MUCH higher dex, then Full Plate is the way to go for the highest AC. Unless you are profecient in the dwarven armors out of Races of Stone. For a cleric, none of the enhancement bonuses stand out as a "must have", except maybe ghost touch. That is only if you are fighting a lot of incorpereal undead. Get the best fortification you can, that is always a good one to add to armor.

Is one of the new books, Dragon Magic, permitted?
There is an alternate class feature in there that is aimed at fighters and paladins, but the requirement is : ability to use heavy armour.
Basically you trade that in for a set of armour you live in, like scales, that gets better over time, and also gets resistances etc. But it doesn't stack with armour. Depending on what you do and don't have, the may be a good option.
Regarding special abilities (like Fortification), I'd suggest putting them on Bracers and a Harness of armour. The +1 AC bonus won't stack, of course, but multiple items are cheaper than one big mega-armour. Soulfire (from the BoED) is my favourite.
