| nizo0b09-13-06, 07:12 PM | How do you get more than 2 arms without changing your race? Possible, not? |
| Tempest Stormwind09-13-06, 07:32 PM | You can do this with the old Girallon's Blessing spell from Savage Species (which may also appear in the Spell Compendium, I don't know), but that's temporary. Polymorph or alter self effects can also work, but that's not what you're looking for. Shape Soulmeld (Girallon Arms) can come close, but chances are that's not quite close enough. What purpose do you need them for? |
| Colyn_Kell09-13-06, 07:38 PM | There is an item in Savage Species call Naga arms, or something. There is also a spell called Girralon's Blessing. I'm not sure, but I dont think you can use weapons with either one... Hope that helps a little. Edit: Curses. Beaten to the punch. |
| nizo0b09-13-06, 08:23 PM | that helps a little, but i need to use weapons in them. i am using the arms to qualify for multiattack. |
| Bill Bisco: Average Adventurer09-13-06, 08:30 PM | There are a TON of Spells to get limbs, I think I need to make a thread which tries to make a world record. |
| FiestFan09-13-06, 08:35 PM | There are a TON of Spells to get limbs, I think I need to make a thread which tries to make a world record. I believe Brother Caelic already has that record. Check the library. |
| nizo0b09-13-06, 08:38 PM | Who is brother Caelic? Where is the Library? |
| Zendu09-13-06, 08:41 PM | http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=213480 I didnt find it in there unless its called something wierd. That library is a bit old though. |
| Brol_The_Mighty09-14-06, 01:07 AM | I thought it was decided that the limbs gained from Girallon's Blessing actually COULD wield weapons |
| MorandirNailo09-14-06, 01:34 AM | They can, but they don't grant extra attacks; they allow you to do things like weild a greatsword and a shield simultaneously. Pretty sure that means no multiattack. Also, G's Blessing can be made permanent. You're still subject to a dispel or MDJ obviously, but it's better than nothing. Why not just play a Thri-Kreen or something? Mor |

| FriendlyFrog09-14-06, 06:56 AM | Spare hands from Magic of Eberron. |
| nizo0b09-14-06, 07:41 AM | There is a map i am trying to acheive. - six arms. - NO LA. - Greater Multiattack. is that even possible? |
| Prominence09-14-06, 08:50 AM | There is a map i am trying to acheive. - six arms. - NO LA. - Greater Multiattack. is that even possible? Enlarged (perminancy) Shifter with some form of giralleon's blessings (extra set for being large iirc) gives six arms and 1 bite attack. Use 2 greatswords and a mouthpick weapon instead of your bite attack - should work? edit: nevermind, seems the SpC version only gives you 1 extra set of arms. SS one gave you some based on size. I suppose you could make a case for Alter Self and polymorph for the extra set of arms you need and still use this, and pick up some spiked armor. |
| Bill Bisco: Average Adventurer09-14-06, 10:12 AM | I believe Brother Caelic already has that record. Check the library. Perhaps, but a lot of new spells has come out since then. And, I don't mean arms, I mean limbs, which includes tentacles :D |
| Ed-Zero09-14-06, 10:27 AM | You could use the Arms from Magic of Eberron (i think it's that book) that has arms you can strap over your chest and they hang at your side acting like normal arms. Problem is that you need infusions to operate the arms past holding a shield or a bag for you (ie: attacking). Also, you can use the new dragon soulmeld in Dragon Magic that gives you 2 dragon arms *above* your arms. I found this interesting because girallion arms gives you 2 arms *below* your original arms. So, with just the soulmelds plus your original arms you could have 6 arms. If you happen to be an artificer then you can get 8 with the item I listed above. |
| Tempest Stormwind09-14-06, 10:47 AM | Perhaps, but a lot of new spells has come out since then. And, I don't mean arms, I mean limbs, which includes tentacles :D The the record's been set since Complete Warrior -- the War Shaper can create an arbitrary number of tentacles via Morphic Weapons. If you're a changeling, you can get in with LA+0, virtually any class, and can keep the shapechanged effects going nigh-indefinitely. |
| JiCi09-14-06, 10:51 AM | The DMG II has a section with unique character traits. An extra pair of arms or legs is one of those; it's a +1 to CR and a +2 to LA |
| Ed-Zero09-14-06, 11:00 AM | How high is this arbitrary number? (I'm AFB at the moment, so I can't look it up myself) |
| wingedcoyote09-14-06, 11:21 AM | How high is this arbitrary number? (I'm AFB at the moment, so I can't look it up myself) Arbitrary is being used in this case to mean "as many as your DM will let you have". |
| Bill Bisco: Average Adventurer09-16-06, 03:05 PM | The the record's been set since Complete Warrior -- the War Shaper can create an arbitrary number of tentacles via Morphic Weapons. If you're a changeling, you can get in with LA+0, virtually any class, and can keep the shapechanged effects going nigh-indefinitely. I'm aware of that, however, I'd rather make a record which didn't rely on Warshaper since I'd rather have a concrete # to make a record. Does anyone have a link to Caelic's thread? |
