Proverbial Irony 08-11-05, 08:13 PM	Hello; im playing a Campagian right now and am in a turning point of what i need to focus on; im hoping you all could help me out; seeing as most of you know the rules more then i do; and im just looking for simple suggestions. We have a group of 3 which include a Scout and a Monk/Rogue; both of which are evil to some extent. Right now im a Elvan Swashbuckler / Rokugon Ninja (odd combo i know; but its the only class i could find w/ swash in terms of Skill points, Sneak Attack, and Good Bab). Im looking to be a Dread Pirate but im not sure which kind i should be; so far ive been pretty nice; but i do intend to use poison. Is there a way to alernate between the two? For example have Sneak attack and Luck of the winds? Im also not sure if i should go Double Thinblade (traded in racial profiencys for Thinblade + Lightblade) or Thinblade + Lightblade. So far heres my feats: Quick Draw Weapon Fennise Skill Knowledge (appraise) Ninja Dodge (Quailfys as dodge for feats) Im going Dread Pirate right now but with Stormwreck coming out im not so sure anymore. Has anyone have a better idea for the Pirate Type; daring and skillfull but just a little sneaky.... Any Help would be appreciated and seeing this is my first post; im hoping im not angering anyone.
Taeldrin Laesrash 08-11-05, 08:43 PM	The way you're going, put some ranks into Intimidate and Profession(Sailor) and you can go Scarlet Corsair (D&D page August Preview, or Stormwrack). It fits your character better, and is mechanically better.
Proverbial Irony 08-11-05, 09:19 PM	Well that looks intresting but I wanted to be more of the Leader type; you know putting myself between my crew and the danger; and i wanted to be more herioc then sneaky. Ive also looked at the Great Camander but once again not what i want. Im also still tore on what i should go for at 6th lvl Improved two weapon fighting or Oversized Two weapon Fighting. I spent 3 feats to get into Dread Pirate so ill probably take a couple if not all in that; but once im out; im not sure what to take and im leaning towards another Pirate prestige class or Tempest. Could i get some suggestions; just to help make up my mind or am i asking for too much?

Beholder Claus 08-12-05, 03:59 PM	Well as a Pirate myself let me be the first to tell you that the second you take that lvl of Dread Pirate your character will either A.) Explode due to no mortal form can contain the shear amount of awesomeness that is pirate and ninja or B.) Will find out he's truely immortal ;) As for suggestions, I've tryed the dread pirate once, it was neat. I personally went dual lightblades (i think whatever the smaller one was) so I'd suggest ITWF. Now for being sneaky just keep buying ranks in hide and MS as cross-class when you get into dread pirate. You won't be as sneaky but you'll still be kinda sneaky. Boots and a Cloak of Elven kind as well as armor of shadows and silent moves will also help. As for alternating in honorable/dishonorable dread pirate abilities you're going to have to talk to the DM about that. For the herocis go honorable dred pirate, sounds very fitting for what you want to do. After you're done with dread pirate I'm not to sure about PrC ideas really. You may just want to continue with ninja, if you can, to up your sneak attack if you go honorable with the dread pirate. Also remember that you can change from honorable to dishonorable and vis versa but its due to your repuation so again up to the DM. I wouldn't recomend this unless the honorable dread pirate thing doesn't work out at all. Hope this helps, and remember if you don't explode it means you can't die. :D
