Artificer "Mounts"? [Archive] - Wizards Community

08-23-05, 03:44 AM So I am going to play an artificer in my next campaign and I want him to have a construct mount, now i have read through the optimized artificer thread and the onle construct suggested is Slaughterstone Eviscerator. This seems like a really good construct but the only problem is: CL 16.
A couple of other questions I have thought of in typing this:
Does CL+2 Artificer class ability work for constructs? (Slight chance but doesn't hurt to ask)
What book is the Dedicated Wight in? (I believe that is the name everyone says an Artificer should have at least 1 of these to make their items for them)

Also Any other suggestions to Artificers would be apreciated

What book is the Dedicated Wight in?

ECS (Eberron campaign setting monster section)

As for your mount for low level charaters go with a Horse Effigy (from compleat arcana). At higher levels a Sheild Golem in an animal or centuar shape or work with your GM to make a specialized construct to serve as your mount (Note: I've always liked the idea of shape changering constructs) .

08-23-05, 04:10 AM Well we are starting at level 1 :( but I was thinking for around level 10-12 because my first few feats are all about legendary artisan and TWF feats for char reasons. I was going to pick up craft construct for my artificer 8 bonus feat (I don't know if that is possible as I don't have my books currently) if that doesn't work it would be my level 9 feat

Yea you can take it as your 8th level bonus feat, well at first level your be hard pressed to afford any construct as mount and unless you can talk your Gm in letting you make a custom homunculus at forth level your be hard pressed to do better then an effigy till about 13th level. Sorry
