My dm said he'd allow it and I've always really wanted to play one. However I have no idea where to start. Any advice or links to posted advice is very helpful. We are starting at 1st with a 28 point buy with the standard OA races as well as possible adaptations of others. I was going to play as a vanara. They get +2 cha, +2 wis, -2 str for no level adjustment. My dm said he'd try to be good about adapting as much as possible to the setting and would only nix things that absolutely went against the flavour of the setting and could not be adapted. |

If you want to make it fit in more with the setting (and thus keep the DM from nixing your character) you might try flavoring the artificier as a caster who deals with the spirits of magical and non-magical items, convincing them to grant aditional powers of work for him. |
