AMoonLitKnight 02-13-06, 05:31 PM	I remember reading somewhere on these boards that the feat exceptional artisian (the 25% less time one which i think was this one) wasn't worth takeing because once you get to a point you don't need to make the items yourself anymore, but i forget why and don't have my books with me to try to figure it out, does anybody know?
Caelic 02-13-06, 05:37 PM	The theory is that being able to make Dedicated Wrights that can work on your items for you makes the feat next to worthless. I'm not sure I buy it. It's less useful than the other two, to be sure, but relying on a nice, safe workshop full of Homonculi seems like it's just begging the DM to mess with you. Sometimes, you're just going to want to (or have to) make that item yourself, and in that case, it's nice to have the time reduction.
AMoonLitKnight 02-13-06, 05:40 PM	oh right the homminoculi can make them, ok just checking, i wasn't sure about it though because in the description of homminoculi it says that if they ever end up more than a mile away then they stop whatever they are doing and try to get to you with all thier power... which would be inconvienient unless you were adventureing inside your town... plus i couldn't find anything about them useing your craft pool unless that was under the craft pool description.
GaffeR 02-13-06, 05:41 PM	Of course, if your "nice, safe workshop full of Homonculi" is inside a portable hole which you carry around, there's less chance of having it messed up. Unless of course, you get messed up.
Caelic 02-13-06, 05:44 PM	Counterpoint: by the time you can make that nice safe portable room, quite a bit of your adventuring career is already over. Having the feat for those early levels might be nice.
Elderich 02-14-06, 03:20 PM	Readers should also note that this is CO. A DM should make the feats you choose usefull in the campaign, or suggest you not take the feat. It is not so hard the occasional plot twist when reduced crafting time is needed.
