Yeah, an infusion cannot be made into an item. Thus, no wand of power surge, no wand of metamagic item, and no combo.

Reread the section on artificer infusions and try again.

guess im missing something then.....

Infusions are neither arcane nor divine; The are drawn from the artificer infusion list. They function just like spells and follow all the rules for spells.

You could not use them for qualifying for PrCs that spesfy arcane or devine(IE nearly all of them) however, they other wise use all the rules for spells. Would that not include scrolls, potions, wands and the like?

This is one of those cases where you're reading just what you want to. If you read on, you'll see:

"An Artificers Infusions do not meet spell prerequisites for creating magic items" ECS Pg. 32 (Emphasis mine)

Infusions, though acting like spells for the sake of rule simplicity, are not spells. You can't make magic items with them, you can't activate magic items who's spell trigger is based on a simmilar infusion (the example the book uses is Light).

It was a nice thought, though.

sooo.... If im understanding that correctly you coulnt even wish for a "armor ehn lesser" infusion?

Hang a sec....

Like a spellcasteran artificer can apply a item creation feats and metamagic feats to his infusions.
pg31 collum 2 paragraph 2

Im pretty sure thats saying you can make infusions into items.

So you Can craft them into items, however, you still need to make the UMD checks.

"An Artificers Infusions do not meet spell prerequisites for creating magic items" ECS Pg. 32Please read the next line after the quote.

This only means you cant use infusions in place of spell prerequisites, like the infusion light where light is needed. This does not mean you cant use infusions in magic items.

But it is clear keith thought the errata would have that effect.

Spell Completion: This is the activation method for scrolls. A scroll is a spell that is mostly finished. The preparation is done for the caster, so no preparation time is needed beforehand as with normal spellcasting. All that’s left to do is perform the finishing parts of the spellcasting (the final gestures, words, and so on). To use a spell completion item safely, a character must be of high enough level in the right class to cast the spell already. If he can’t already cast the spell, there’s a chance he’ll make a mistake. Activating a spell completion item is a standard action and provokes attacks of opportunity exactly as casting a spell does.
Spell Trigger: Spell trigger activation is similar to spell completion, but it’s even simpler. No gestures or spell finishing is needed, just a special knowledge of spellcasting that an appropriate character would know, and a single word that must be spoken. Anyone with a spell on his or her spell list knows how to use a spell trigger item that stores that spell. (This is the case even for a character who can’t actually cast spells, such as a 3rd-level paladin.) The user must still determine what spell is stored in the item before she can activate it. Activating a spell trigger item is a standard action and does not provoke attacks of opportunity.

Spell trigger and spell compleation are part of the rules for spells.

An aftificer's infusions do not meet spell prerequisites for creating magic items. For example, an artificer must still employ the UMD skill to emulate the light spell to create a wand of light, even though light appears on his infusion list.

That means that you still have to use UMD to use them to craft an item as the artificer does not lose prepared spells/spellslots/infusions during item creation.
In this light the errata still makes sence as then you still cant apply item creation feets to infusions because the artificer does not use spells to complete items, he emulates the spells needed to craft.

In this light the errata still makes sence as then you still cant apply item creation feets to infusions because the artificer does not use spells to complete items, he emulates the spells needed to craft.I do not see how this can make sence. First it is premised on the above, which is not in the rules for artificer. Second, artificers have no arcane or divine spells to use for item creation. But infusions follow the rules for spells, so they can be used for item cretion.

I am saying it is clearly legal, just not what was intended, and incorrectly errated to prevent it.
