| Fithero08-09-05, 04:39 PM | Ok, i keep hearing all this talk about the Artificer being one of the greatest prc's, but i dont even know what book it is in. Could somebody please tell me the basic concept of the class and where i can find it. Chiers |

They create magic items. They have a XP reserve per level that is used just for making magic items, and they get feats to assist in doing so. -Rataluge |

They also have a unique brand of magic called Infusions, which allow them to enhance or change magic or mundane items "on the fly" (like being able to enhance weapons or armor with the appropriate ability to deal with a particular foe, or shifting the bonus provided on an item from one type to another, or Damaging/Repairing constructs). If you push the class and RAW to their limits, the Artificer is stupid broken and hands down the most powerful 1-20 class out there. Even playing conservatively, they're strong characters and very stylish. Enjoy. |

Haven't had that problem. If the party wants to be able to buy almost any magic item at the severely discounted rate that a good crafter can pull off, then they'll donate those extra magic items to you. Otherwise, you'll be much better outfitted than they are when you make all your own gear and they're dealing with paying full price and finding a decent market to buy items. |
