| runewaybur01-10-07, 09:26 PM | So, I've played a warrior-type, I've played a caster, I've been a healing ***** for a party. While I've not done it all, I have done quite a bit. So now, I'm looking for something different, and a concept comes to mind. The thing is, even though I have played, my knowledge of twinking is quite limited; yet this should not be a limited character. Anyway. I'm looking for a character that, for lack of better wording, is a combination of Doctor Doom, Lex Luthor, Einstein, Mindel, Socrates, etc. Yet he's not an evil guy, just really smart and probably ahead of his time. I'm thinking feats such as Vow of Peace and Vow of Non-violence are a must, yet I'm still attempting to figure out a way around the minuses that my party will get, since they are a bit bloodthirsty at times. He's not particularly violent, nor does he want to get his hands dirty, but he doesn't mind if others do. Also, Omnificer is right down my alley, but a bit TOO powerful, if you know what I mean. I'm thinking Artificer so far. They seem to be down my alley. Any suggestions or directions to ideas previously like this would be awesome. General Rules: -40 point buy (I love my DM) -All resources are available to use, but please site magazine #. -Current PL is 6, but feel free to plot up to 20. Again, thanks for the help. I hope I've given enough information, but if I've left anything out, let me know. |

In which case, you're going to want to have competency boosters (usually under the 'wondrous item' category) made for your skills of choice, pronto. Seek out special abilities/feats that let you take 10 on your favorite skills where you normally wouldn't be able to do so. I dunno if Artificers are skill monkeys by default, but they certainly have an easy time crafting said competency items, easier than any other base class at the very least. "Don't mind if you do, for me" is a classic enchanter-type. There are multiple base class options for this, such as Beguiler, Bard, Sorcerer, Telepath, and perhaps even Cleric (etc.), let alone the number of PrCs available. Oh, and most definitely take the Leadership feat a.s.a.p. . Intelligence and Charisma I think are going to be your main stats. |
