Assassin/ninja? [Archive] - Wizards Community

03-23-04, 10:56 PM I was wondering what you people thought the best PrC or PrC's would be for a level 2 rogue who wanted to be like an assassin or ninja. I've looked at the assassin PrC and it seems ok, and my group doesn't use the oriental adventures book. I can't remember my stats off the top of my head, but they went something like this:

Halfling Rogue
str 14
con 13
int 14
wis 13
cha 13
dex 18

I'm not sure if all of this is right, but I know that dex was 18 and that I have the ambidexterity feat. I might be some form of sprite, so if you could give more advice pertaining to that, that would be great.

1) You are playing 3.0 or 3.5 (probably 3.0 because you mentioned ambidexterity)?
2) Which books do you have available for you to use?
3) You want to be rogue like ninja/assassin as the other pretty common option is to be an arcane version of assassin/ninja?
4) Would you like ranged or melee combat?
5) You definitely want to be a halfling?
6) What alignment you want to have: good, neutral or evil?

PS. KSB Snow Owl's sniper is a perfect long range assassin build. It is found here:

03-26-04, 06:45 AM I think the coolest and one of the strongest non cheesy options would be:

Rogue 3/Figther2/Ninja1/Assassin 8/Teflammar Shadowlord 6

7d6 sneak attack

Death attack DC 24+int (hide observe 3 round shadow jump and death attack)

Optimum skill list.
Free dodge feat from ninja
Hide in pain sigth ability

Nice build i think

EDIT: ops.. you don' use the oriental book..

Rogue 3/figther 2/assassin 9/Teflammar 6 or

Rogue 2/Ranger2/Figther 2/assassin 8/ teflammar 6

or if you don't mind death attack

Rogue 3/Ranger 2/Figther 2/Assassin 9/teflammar 4

ah obviously TWF...

I like the first or the last one most.

I want to be the rogue like ninja, I'm not sure if I want to be ranged or melee yet, and I will either be a halfling or a pixie. You might also want to keep in mind that this will be a "You must launch an expedition to find enough money to buy anything" campaign. Can anyone tell me what book is the shadowlord PrC in?
