Is there a way to get ASA as a 3rd level Druid? If i were a Wizard I guess Alter Self could qualify (because you have the ability to "assume a new form"), but you don't have this spell as a Druid. Maybe some talent or race which allows you to assume a different form and thus qualify for the feat?

I'm sort of missing the point I guess. If it's what I'm thinking it is then it's the feat that lets you get a supernatural power of a shape you can into. Well lets see ability to assume a new form magically you might try some type of alter self amulet. It's a bit hard at level 3 though by level 5 it's easy with the wildshape stuff. I assume any shape that let you take another shape. But the problem is that you have to pick the ONE and only thing you get to copy at the level that you pick it. So I'm not sure why you are rushing into things.

There's a spell in the Spell Compendium you can take at first level, I believe its called Bite of the Wolf. It lets you turn into a wolf. Its simple yet effective. Does Assume Supernatural Ability say you have to change into the creature whos ability you want?

Yeah, it mentions the one supernatural ability you get is of the creature while you are assuming the its form. So no getting another creature supernatural ability other then the one you changed into or keeping that ability after you change back.

Though an interesting point to think about. With a cameleon (stupid class that lets you have a feat that changes every day) build stuck into a shape changing build would be nice, the normal assume once for something nice none combat related, then take use your feat for the improved version every day of something different each time.

Can the original poster please explain why they want that feat other then a can it be done?

Extra learning for the spell alterself might be worth it if you were say an outsider to start with. Though really that's an extra feat.

Are you sure about it? I thought you could decide what to pick every time you transformed into something else... that's why I was hurrying. :)

I'm pretty sure that it applies to just the one that you pick. Though if you can talk your dm into ruling it the other way go for it. :)

The feat actually says "a single supernatural ability of another kind of creature", which means, as I read it, that you only have to specify the name of the ability you're assuming. For example, if you chose "Eye Beam", you could turn into any variety of beholder and happily ape their various eye beams all you wanted. Breath Weapon is another good choice for it, as is Alternate Form and/or Change Shape, though for sheer variety of effects, eye beams is -definitely- the way to go. At level 11, you get Beholder and at level 14 you can upgrade to Beholder Overseer, and at level 20 you can use Draconic Poly to get Beholder Den Mother, which is just a Beholder on Essence of Moonshadow, or close enough as makes no nevermind.
