Hi all,

Been reading these forums lately and am impressed with how helpful everyone are. I have a question myself that I hope someone can help me with: I am joining a campaign and would like to create a character fighting using melee weapons, focusing on long reach and a lot of AoO. Being invisible help as enemies won't know how to avoid the squares I'm threatening as long as they can't see me at least. If we will be playing in relatively confined spaces (Dungeons) I predict that this will happen a lot and hence all the extra attacks are attractive. So the Pixie race fits this invisibility thing well. Race doesn't have to be a pixie but I don't know of any other way of staying invisible for hours so that's why I chose that.

The challenge then becomes to get as long reach as possible while having

decent-good attack bonuses
medium damage. Damage is not too important for this characters role, it's the amount of attacks that is attractive so he/she can interrupt actions and deal a bit of damage. The rest of the group will dish out their fair share of pain and suffering anyways :)
high AC and medium-high HP so that I can act as a tank if needed (turn visible and attract attention)
Saves are not a priority

Feat-wise I believe I will chose some related to Attacks of Opportunity of course, to increase the amounts I could do in one round.

Increasing size could perhaps be a wise thing either by polymorph, enlarge or magical item.

I had a look at the Barbixi thread which made for interesting read :)

Allowed 34 point-buy and any books.

Suggestions? Thanks in advance. And remember, it doesn't have to be a pixie as long as greater invisibility remains at large :) Just came up with this idea at work, that's why there's so little detail here :p Hopefully you'll manage :-)

Fighters help because of their feats, and the spiked chain plus Combat Reflexes helps make quite the combatant.

When I think of AoO builds, I think spiked chain trippers. Unfortunately, the pixie's small size and low strength make this extreamly difficult. One option is to try and make it down to tiny size weilding a reach weapon and a spiked gauntlet (giving you 5' reach and point blank attacks) and going with Confound the Big Folk and Underfoot Combat to be extreamly pesky. Rogue or ninja work well with this, but you'll need fighter levels for the feats and BAB.

Another somewhat wacky option is to go with a whirlwind charger... get the ability to full attack on the charge and bust out with Power Attack/Leap Attack/Shock Trooper for massive bonuses to damage, then flying charge into the middle of the enemy and cut loose, hitting them all. You're invisible, so they'll have a tough time hurting you while your AC is so low, and if you've got a spiked chain they'll likely then provoke attacks of opportunity, which will be boosted by massive damage from Power Attack. Fighter would be the way to go here. Elusive target would help here, as you're likely to be flanked, and Improved Trip goes well with that.

Knight 4 / Warshaper 3 is a good bet for starting class levels here. After that, getting into Rogue or Nightsong Enforcer for Opportunist (and Staggering Strike, too) is a good idea as well.

for small creatures its always best to either fill a niche, or gain damage that is NOT die based. i.e. Power Attack, Inciteful Strike, etc. I'd really like to see a feral pixie babr/fb. I think that'd be just CRAZY. if not, just a pixie barb/fb.
