Wand Hilted Sword: Allows the weilder to place 1 wand into the hilt of a sword, and cast the spell within the wand as a standard action. Changing the wand is a full-round action that provokes an attack of oppurtunity I plan on taking advantage of the infusions that allow me to enhance my armor and weapons, so I can effectively deal with any situtation. Wands of Enlarge Person, and various cleric buffs will up my damage output, and wands of those nifty regeneration spells will help even more. Mithral breastplate is the best I can do for armor? 1 Art1: EWP: Bastard Sword(H), Extraordinary Artisan(1), Scribe Scroll(B) 2 Art2: Brew Potion(B) 3 Art3: Craft Wonderous Item(B), Power Attack (3) 4 Art4: Craft homunculus(B), Legendary Artisan 5 Art5: Craft Magic Arms and Armor (B) 6 Art6: Quicken Spell(6) 7 Art7: Craft Wand (B) 8 Art8: Wand Mastery (B) 9 Art9: Weapon Focus: Bastard Sword (9), Craft Rod (B) 10 Art9/EWM1 Uncanny Blow 11 Art10/EWM1 12 Art11/EWM1 Extend Spell (12) 13 Art12/EWM1 Craft Staff, Exceptional Artisan 14 Art13/EWM1 15 Art14/EWM1 Forge Ring, Persistant Spell (15) 16 Art15/EWM1 17 Art16/EWM1 Extra Rings (B) 18 Art17/EWN1 Maximize Spell (18) 19 Art18/EWM1 20 Art19/EWM1 |

You want Persistent as soon as humanly possible, preferrably by seventh level and at latest by ninth. Persistent Divine Power and Divine Favor are staples for you. At slightly higher levels, one of your first priorities should be a staff of Draconic Polymorph, which can ALSO be made Persistent. I would also discard the Bastard Sword in favor of a simple club. Why? Spikes, my friend, Spikes. It's going to add a lot more damage to your attacks then Uncanny Blow, unless you have a truly monstrous strength. For even more oomph, you can technically also cast Brambles on the same club. If you can put a wand in the hilt of a sword, there's no reason you shouldn't be able to put one in the handle of a club. |

| Caelic10-24-04, 02:00 PM | A few of the feats are still slightly off. Craft Staff comes at level 12, not level 13...and you can replace the Persistent Spell at level 15 with something else now. :) Heck, if your DM's crazy enough to allow it, show him the Bow of True Arrows, from Sword and Fist, and ask him if you can have the same ability in a melee weapon. It's a spell trigger, so it can be Quickened via Metamagic Item. Quickened True Strike plus Power Attack=ow. |

Although, later, nothing stops me from making Greatclubs as staffs. I can just use great magic weapon and infusions to make the magic weapon of my choice. Oh, the feat stuff was from me being lazy and just cutting and pasting stuff. But with this set up, I get persistant spell at the sametime as metamagic spell trigger :D Did I get it right this time? (I'm going to play the BAstard Sword-user in a one shot game.. just for flavor sake.) Edit - Thinking about it, this is for a FR game, (hence no Heir of Siberys) so I could just take the Militia feat :D |
| Ruxpin10-24-04, 06:48 PM | I dont think you should bother with going for greatclub. Just create a wand of Shillelagh. This will increase the damage of your staff/club to 2d6, and then you could possibly take twf and attack with both ends of your staff, getting spike (spikes spell) attacks with both ends. It might be possible that you could cast shillelagh on a great club.. The spell says on your nonmagical club/quarterstaff, guess that would be up to your DM. Does anyone know offhand if you can duplicate psionic powers as well? or create psionic items as a artificer? |
| Tealgorthian10-24-04, 07:23 PM | There are psionics in Eberron, and they dont get the Use Psionic Device skill, so I would assume you cant. I'd rather have a weapon on hand all the time, and not be complete dependent on my wands to do all the work for me. And the TWF chain is too many feats to work into a Artificer build. I'm going to be acting as a party healer as well. |
| Ruxpin10-25-04, 02:31 AM | I was under the impression that at the beginning of the day you just persistent spell'd all your buffs up with wands. Wouldnt be to hard to do shillelagh in there as well.... |
| punkurself10-25-04, 05:40 AM | pardon me, but what is artificer from, so i can figure out what your talking about. :D |
| 7sigma10-25-04, 10:34 AM | Artificer is a new class introduced by the Eberron setting. The master of all magic items, arcane or divine, the Artificer is soon taking its place as the best min-max material ever conceived. Get it now! :D |

Wouldnt be to hard to do shillelagh in there as well.... there is. Metamagic Spell item and Metamagic Spell Trigger. But it can still be dispelled :| While it isnt bad, I can still enchant the club, Spike it, and be okay. I might be a little less effective over all, but I think that the hit to min/max damage is worth a little flexability. pardon me, but what is artificer from, so i can figure out what your talking about. Eberron Camp Setting, Page 30ish. It's a base class that revolves around the Use Magic Device skill, and making items. |
