I'm putting together a background for a Blackguard that likes to maim his foes at all costs, and a vicious weapon would fit his profile rather nicely. However, I'm looking for a way around taking 1d6 damage back each round.

At first, I thought of adding the mineral warrior template, and letting that nice DR soak up the 1d6. Then I noticed that energy isn't covered by DR, so that's out the window.

" When a vicious weapon strikes an opponent, it creates a flash of disruptive energy "

There is of course armor that protects against electricity, but that's certainly not the same thing. I'm stuck with using the SRD as my resource here.. is there an armor elsewhere that protects against energy?

Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly helpful

if you can find a way to get fast healing it helps quite a bit. otherwise i dont know of any way to avoid the energy from vicious weapons. i have used them quite a bit, (probably a little too much) and i wouldnt reccomend them on a d8 hit die average or less. just like karmic strike.

Not too helpful but Elan (XPH & SRD) can spend PP to reduce damage taken from a source. It would end up costing a lot every day though.

don't know what book but a vest of healing would do the trick and then some
it does 1d8 every round you take damage. even if u don't get hit by a foe the damage from vicious is still damage taken every round.
