I'm not even sure if this is the proper forum for it; but meh. Anyway I'm making a Druid/Lion of Talisid and am wondering, since Exalted Companion allows you to have a magical beast with an Intelligence of at least 3 (since that's what Celestial animals are) wouldn't that be roughly the same as having an awakened animal (only the awakened animal is probably a higher intelligence than that, it's still the same "self aware" state). Most DMs house-rule awakened animals as companions anyway, I'm just wondering if this might be a legal loophole?
