My 8th level character just died last night, and isn't able to be brought back (he's a tiefling, which is an outsider, and all raising-like spells for him are really high level and thus really expensive). So, I'm thinking of playing an elf who is going for Champion of Corellon Latharian (I'm not sure of the spelling off-hand). This gives me Dex as a bonus to damage. If I mostly went Fighter, I could meet the prerequisites to take up Champion next level. In another two levels (Champion 2), I would gain that special ability. To qualify for that class, however, I'm having to take some feats that I wouldn't really use, like Mounted Combat. So, do I still go that route because that is some awesome damage, or do I take feats to make him a better fighter overall? My ability scores that I rolled up last night are: 17 15 15 15 12 12 For classes, I'm thinking of going: 1 - Swashbuckler 2 - Swashbuckler 3 - Swashbuckler 4 - Fighter 5 - Fighter 6 - Fighter 7 - Fighter For race, I was thinking of playing a Gray Elf (+2 Dex & Int, -2 Str & Con). Being Elf also qualifies me for the Champion prestige class. |

If you still want your new char, two-weapon fighters benefit from 2 things. More attacks and extra damage sources. Swash + CoCL is good for bonus damage, and if you're going to take 4 levels of Fighter you might as well get Weapon Spec too. Dervish adds to both damage and number of attacks, so that's a good prestige class as well. Your build could go: Swash 3/Fighter 4/Dervish 10/CoCL 2/Filler 1 |
