| Icel12-11-05, 02:49 PM | Since I'm not very proficianet with the NPC style character building rules, I was thinking you might be able to help me with this character. This is what I have so far: Balthasar Kummel, Ice Reaver LN male Thayian Tiefling monk 6/psychic warrior 5. Hit Die: 11d8 + 22 (77). Initiative: +3 Armor class: 18 (+1 monk AC bonus, +3 dexterity, +4 wisdom); touch 18; 11 flat-footed 18. Speed: 40 ft. Base attack bonus: +7/ +2. Attack: Full Attack: Special Abilities: Special Qualities: Saving Throws: Fortitude +11; Reflex +9; Will +12; Abilities: Str 16, Dex 16, Con 14, Int 12, Wis 18, Cha 10 Skills (58): Feats (7): Stunning Fist, Deflect Arrows, Improve Disarm. Possessions: +1 frost burst gloves. Power Points per Day: 7. Powers Known: 1/ Claws of the Beast, Biofeedback, Metaphysical Claws; 2/ Body Adjustment, Painful Strike. The most important things I dpn't understand are: what is the difference between attack and full attack (sheet wise, not game wise), and the difference between Special Abilities and Special Qualities. |
| X-Codes12-11-05, 05:09 PM | It's Special Attacks, not Special Abilities. Attack shows the creature's options for a single standard action attack (including AB and damage). Full Attack shows the creature's options for a full attack (again including AB's and damage). Special Attacks are all the abilities the creature has that require an action to use or that directly augment a creature's attacks while Special Qualities are all the abilities the creature gets the benefits of passively. There are a few exceptions to this such as the Alternate Form or Change Self abilities of Shapechangers. For example, your Powers and Flurry of Blows are Special Attacks while Evasion, Still Mind, Ki Strike, Slow Fall, and Purity of Body are Special Qualities. |
