| BrokenClock06-16-06, 10:21 AM | I'm now a level 1 Barbarian and a level 3 Fighter. I plan on doing the 4 level fighter and maybe 16 level Barbarian. Unless I can find some other builds to make him a better damage dealer. I was looking in to Frenzied Berserker, but the idea of killing my team mates doesn't sound like a lot of fun. HP 35, AC 17 (breastplate, master), Fort 7, Ref 3, Will 2 Main skills : Intimidate, Jump, Climb and Listen Str - 18 Dex - 15 Con - 14 Int - 14 Wis - 13 Cha - 9 Feats : Power Attack, Extra Rage, WF : Great Axe, Cleave, (I still have to take a feat for my 2nd level in fighter. My DM let me sit on it) When I gain that extra level in fighter I will have another two feats to pick from and I will once again be overwhelmed. My DM will allow any book published by Wizards. I also wonder if I'm picking the best armour for my class. I don't seem to be doing a lot of adventure stuff (like using my jump or climb skill) so now I'm wondering if I should just walk around in full plate. |
| Xeraph06-16-06, 10:58 AM | I have a wild idea. It combines Divine magic, Psionic powers, alot of Rage and wielding around something simular to a tree trunk! Yeah! I call it... Runescared Warmind! (A triple threat build) Barbarian 1/ Fighter 2/ Psychic Warrior 2/ Warmind (Expanded Psionics Handbook) 5/ Runescarred Berserker (Unaproachable East) 10 Feats: 1 - Power Attack 2 - Weapon Focus (Greatclub) 3 - Improved Bullrush 3 - Iron Will 5 - Cleave 6 - Three Mountain Style (complete Warrior) 6 - Survivor (Players Guide to Faerun) 9 - Ettercap Berserker (Unaproachable East) 12 - Shocktrooper (Complete Warrior) 15 - Leap Attack (Complete Adventurer) 18 - Mental Juggernaut (Complete Psionics) Tactic is to charge in, using psionic lions pounce, and nauseate opponents. Sweeping Strike let you use your Three Mountain Style against two opponents at once. Nauseate everything that moves! Wahahaha! Also you get runes scribed into your skin that dublicates some of the most potent 5th level spells for a tank!. If you are human, then you have room for Extra Rage at first level which would be great. This build is far far far better than Fighter 4/ Barbarian 16. |
| BrokenClock06-16-06, 11:14 AM | An interesting build for sure. Although I'm not sure I want to use magic. |
| Xeraph06-16-06, 11:22 AM | Then I reccomend the vanila. Changeling Barbarian 2/ Fighter 2/ Warshaper 4/ Exotic Weapon Master (Geat Scimitar and Uncanny Blow) 1/ Bear Warrior 10. |
| BrokenClock06-16-06, 11:24 AM | I always thought there were xp penalities to taking huge lists of classes. |
| RD_Imperialist06-16-06, 11:27 AM | Then I reccomend the vanila. Changeling Barbarian 2/ Fighter 2/ Warshaper 4/ Exotic Weapon Master (Geat Scimitar and Uncanny Blow) 1/ Bear Warrior 10. how about using a changeling with racial emulation to get into revenant blade? I always thought there were xp penalities to taking huge lists of classes. look closely, he's only got two base classes. |
| Xeraph06-16-06, 11:32 AM | I always thought there were xp penalities to taking huge lists of classes. No there isnt. It depends upon the level range. Also, Prestige Classes doesn't give you XP penalties in any way. |
| BrokenClock06-16-06, 11:49 AM | Too bad the bear form stats don't stack like the FB stats do. |
| Xeraph06-16-06, 11:59 AM | Yes, it is partially replaced, with something much better. But if you can't appreciate +20 in strength, then I can't win the argument. |
| Valanthe06-16-06, 01:36 PM | No there isnt. It depends upon the level range. Also, Prestige Classes doesn't give you XP penalties in any way. Just curious, but where does it actually say that? I can't find it... |
| Xeraph06-16-06, 01:39 PM | Dungeon Master Guide I guess... EDIT: Thats funny, I cant find a single reference to the subject!?!? |
| _Eleazar_06-16-06, 07:41 PM | The bear warrior is great and all, but how do you get past DR with it. What if you fight a demon, werewolf, or something with a +5 DR. That isn't going to be too fun. |
| Thraat06-16-06, 07:47 PM | Try here: http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=111360 Its from the CO library, might help. |
| Xeraph06-16-06, 07:48 PM | Gloves of Man + Metaline Surestriking Great Scimitar of Wrathful Healing + Uncanny Blow = overcoming DR. |
| EldonG06-16-06, 08:44 PM | Gobs of damage = overcoming DR. ;) For x/magic, get Iron Fang made permenant. |
| Valanthe06-16-06, 09:11 PM | Dungeon Master Guide I guess... EDIT: Thats funny, I cant find a single reference to the subject!?!? Yeah... the last time I asked this question I was given the answer of it's "In the DMG" but no one could give me a page reference. I'm not suggesting that it's not there, and even if it wasn't, I'd houserule it in, but still, it'd be nice to know where it is. |
| PhoenixInferno06-16-06, 09:16 PM | Gobs of damage = overcoming DR. ;)Heh. There's also a feat in PHBII that lets you deal extra damage to a foe if you can't penetrate its DR - only with Unarmed Strikes, I believe. |

I'm not suggesting that it's not there, and even if it wasn't, I'd houserule it in, but still, it'd be nice to know where it is. AFAIK it's not explicitly stated in the RAW. I think it is in the FAQ, though. |
