| the_fenris_wolf10-21-06, 07:20 PM | I Don't have much of an idea of what kind equipment i should get for a level 8 Goliath Barbarian substitution. I have a general idea of what i should get, such as Armbands of Might for power attack, and maybe Boots of speed and Springing for movement (Basic mounts cant hold 280-320 lbs plus equipment). Any other ideas ? remember im only level eight so nothing more than 14,000 on a single item, and 28,000 gp total. Cheers :D |
| X-Codes10-21-06, 07:45 PM | +1 Berserking Large Greataxe, +1 Valorous Large Greataxe, or +1 Keen Large Falchion. I know Berserking isn't a great enhancement down the road, but when you're still using only +2 weapons and playing a Barbarian it's second to very few enhancements. |
| the_fenris_wolf10-21-06, 11:44 PM | The problem with 2 out of the 3 weapon enchantments you suggested is that they are 3.0 edition rules which my dm will not allow. Any other ideas ? |

Berserking is actually less effective in 3.5 (unless you have a +4 weapon already, which makes it able to overcome epic DR pre-epic), and Valorous only really kicks in once a fight, if that often. Theres still the +1 Keen Falchion. As for armor, just get a Breastplate. Might not even need Masterwork. Just get enough AC to make secondary attacks miss more often than they should. I can never find a way to make a Barbarian have decent AC, so I just don't try. Hmm, what else... get a Pearl of Power III at level 12 so your party arcanist can cast Greater Magic Weapon on you for free... Get something to fly a little, maybe... |
| the_fenris_wolf10-22-06, 04:33 PM | I am probably just going to take a +1 greataxe, so thats the weapons sorted. But my main aim of this thread was to sort out all the different body equipment (neck, head, face, back, chest, arms, rings,fe et etc). Any ideas ?:D |
| Pinky's brain10-22-06, 04:44 PM | Armor of the Unending Hunt from CW is nice for a barbarian, makes you immune to fatigue and exhausion. |
| Blade271810-22-06, 04:49 PM | Your basic array of protectives and stat boosters will spend your money pretty quickly. +2 items of Con and Str, ring of protection +1, and a vest of resistance +1 will be most of it. |
| the_fenris_wolf10-22-06, 04:52 PM | Wat is it (+1,+2), and how much does it cost. |

| the_fenris_wolf10-22-06, 06:10 PM | I have been to the srd, i justed wanted to know wat ur opinion on wat i should get is ? Also i cant find that unending hunt thing there, can you tell me about it. |
| elonin10-22-06, 08:16 PM | As Pinkey's brain commented it grants immunity to fatigue and exhaustion (great for a barbarian). That armour is +2 mithrial chainmail and is found in CW page 134. Don't know what a goliath is but for barbarian I'd recomend spending 1/2 on getting the best weapon you can manage then spend the rest protecting yourself. |

Eh, a +1 weapon with another +1-equivalent enhancement is fine at this point. Beyond that, you get more benefit-per-gp out of Strength boosting items. Which items you should otherwise buy depends on how buffed you get by the spellcasters in the party. |
| the_fenris_wolf10-22-06, 11:33 PM | Well, my party consists of a Level 8 Human Druid Level 8 Wood Elf Unfeated Level 8 Human Sorcerer Level 7 Aisimar Duskblade And me Level 7 Goliath Barbarian This means that 3 out of 5 of our party members are spellcasters, so i will get buffs (especially with enlarge person), But i prefer to be self managable. Here is the list of the current items that i feel i will take : +1 large Greataxe 4,000 MW Mithril Breastplate 4,000 Armbands of Might 4,000 Periapt of Health 4,000 Boots of Running and springing (Or something like that) 4,000 This leaves about 6-9 k left, What else should i get, What should i get  |
| PhaedrusXY10-22-06, 11:43 PM | Belt of Giant's Strength, Cloak of Resistance, Ring of Protection, and give your armor a +1. You might buy the druid a 1st level Pearl of Power in trade for a Barkskin, also. |
| the_fenris_wolf10-22-06, 11:56 PM | Pearl of Power? what do they do ? |
| Anauroch10-23-06, 07:08 AM | http://www.d20srd.org/indexes/magicItems.htm Know it. Love it. Look. Then ask. Always. :P |
| Daemoniss10-23-06, 07:20 AM | What is a Unfeated? |
| the_fenris_wolf10-23-06, 08:31 PM | Its a class from either PHbII or arcana unearthed, and it like a swashbuckling/rogue hybrid with sneak attack and high skill points and this weird ability to throw people of cliffs (the thing that made the player choose it  ). Sneak attack guy, and the main fighter at this point. |
| rilem10-23-06, 10:23 PM | It's called unfettered. And BTW, Valorous is (at least arguably) 3.5. Unapproachable East predates the PHB 3.5, but the legalese text at the front of the book says it's part of the revised (i.e., 3.5) rules |

(AFB atm, but I'm pretty sure it's in the same book). |
