ShubNiggurath 01-28-07, 11:25 AM	Hello, I am asking for a suggestion here. A guy in my group is playing an half troll (+4 LA) barbarian 5 (ECL9) and is heading for the frenzied berserker PrC. I would like to offer him an alternative since if he goes there it is going to get ugly. My question is: can you name a good barbarian PrC? Rules: - not exalted - something that allows him to "kick butt". No spellcaster or other fancy stuff - No change of shape ( =no bear warrior/warshaper) - No mounts/combat riding stuff (he fights on foot) - something good for a VERY LOW INT/WIS/CHA (highest is 6) character - Sources allowed: core+complete+mini+savage species+frostburn+libris mortis (no psionics or tome of battle or setting specific stuff) Any suggestion? The only thing I found is Pious Templar, but I don't think he will like the flavor. Also he does not want to go straight barbarian (the best option IMHO)

ninjarabbit 01-28-07, 04:11 PM	A level of exotic weapon master with uncanny blow with a bastard sword or similar weapon is nasty for high str characters.

Pinky's brain 01-29-07, 06:58 AM	Pious Templar is a caster, if you are searching for a PrC which boosts his saves consider Occult Slayer. PS. that character is already suicidal, one dimensional will save spell bait ... I'd say he is a perfect candidate for FB.

hogarth 01-29-07, 08:54 AM	How about Ronin? The prerequisities are trivial (and can be shared with Exotic Weapon Master for Uncanny Blow) and Banzai Charge is nice. He might not like the flavor of this class, either.

Abulafia 01-29-07, 10:01 AM	Runescarred Berserker (Unapproachable East) for Berserky-ness; at least one level of Horizon Walker for immunity to fatigue. If 3.0 is in play, the Berserker PrC from (I think) Deities and Demigods is pretty cool, but it's a lot like Frenzied Berserker in terms of losing control.

You need to give details (stats, feats, etc.) if you want better information. But your allowed list puts the kibosh on the better Barbarian PrCs (runescarred, champion of gwynharrf, Warforged Juggernaut) that aren't F.B. All are excellent. Frostrager/Bear Warrior are also good, but you've nixed those, too. So it's not a question of there being no good PrCs for barbarians -- just not that many for this guy. Frenzied Berserker is quite a good choice for him -- but not for the party. You need to have a good will save (or have Tome of Battle or Player's Handbook II) to play a F.B. withouth killing your friends.
Rathan 01-29-07, 05:46 PM	why not just stay with a straight barbarian? they are great all by their lonesome. great attack, great damage, and it sounds like that is what you want seeing as you don't want spells or anything that would add something to the already great class. although your right frenzied berserker is a sad, sad, sad choice.
