| Urban Sniper12-20-06, 03:09 AM | A friend of mine is planning on playing a barbarian/cleric in an upcoming, low-magic/low-power campaign. Max level will probably be between 10 and 15, and while it's mostly going to be an RP-emphasis game, he's wanting to know if there are any prestige classes that are designed for a barbarian/cleric combo, or that could be worked into the combo. Thanx |

| Urban Sniper12-20-06, 10:51 PM | Any out there that continue with spell-casting progressions instead of giving a seperate set of spells or no spellcasting at all? |
| Valdrax12-21-06, 12:12 AM | None that work specifically with Barbarian. Fist of Raziel (from BoED) is the best divine fighter/caster PrC, but it's not very Barbarian flavored at all. You could adapt the Prestige Paladin to grant the abiilties that a Paladin of Freedom (CG) would grant or tweak the Prestige Ranger, though you'd gain no rage progression. Alternately, you could adapt the Rage Mage PrC to allow divine casters. It doesn't seem like it would be too broken with a cleric instead of a wiz/sorc, especially given that the 2nd level power to reduce ASF would be tossed out the window. |

It only gives 1/2 spell progression (), but if it's combat-light and he's just looking for something that gives the flavor of a barbarian spellcaster, that might help. |

Both Rage Mage and Raumathari Battlemage sadly apply to arcane casters only. :( |

| FallFromGrace12-21-06, 02:09 AM | So I figured Rage Mage was about the closest he'd get. As far as I can see, Rage Mage can only progress arcane spellcasting, so you can't, for example, use arcane spellcaster levels to qualify for the prestige class and then apply its spellcasting progression to divine spellcasting. Even if it is possible, I'm not sure if Rage Mage is worth that loss of feats and/or ECL... :) |

Thanx Runescarred Berserker is a great fit. It unforetnately gives separate spellcasting, but it has a good list, and gives up to 5th level spells (and many spells early ... heal and antimagic field at 5th level, freedom of movement at 3rd, etc.). Admittedly, they cost exp & gold, but wonderful flavor and early access. |
