Hey im a classic Bard player...I love the class bard but I need to some help in the fighting area....Im not a big fan of fighting in D&D but it is a part of the game.

One Idea i hope i can get some response of:

Bard\Rouge

You are level 2 rouge and lvl 1 bard you got a leather armour, A spesial made fiolin with a lightcrossbow inside or smaller crossbow.

Scenario: You play in a tavarn called Flying Pegasus. There is not many people there. A big group of half orc sitting in the middel of the room drinking beer ale and everything that goes down in there mouth. Then one of the half orc goes towards you while you are playing, and says.....: I SMASH YOU HEAD IN THE TABLE OVER THERE!! You do a facinate on him and hope you succeds...You succeds the facinate. He sits down and listens to the music you are playing to him. You point the fiolin towards him. Press a button under the fiolin and shoot at him. It will be a suprise attack so you get sneak attack 1d6 + 1d6 of the light crossbow. And if i have fire bolts i get 1d6 more...

Please guys come with more ides and things about this one

Well some things.. It is pretty creative but how is a light crossbow going to fit in a fiolin

You aren't able to shoot a croosbow when he is fascinated ( of course it goes) but when shot at, the fascination will stop and he can of course respond to the action so just retaining his Ac. Just want to see the respond of the Half Orc if you miss or don't manage to kill it at your first strike. He'll pretty sure be ****** off! Not to mention the other Half Orcs :D

If it is a crossbow, you first have to load it, because you can't go round with a loaded crossbow because that will ruin the crossbow, so you have to put a bolt in and point at him, this will be a hostile action against the Half Orc, and so automatically stops the Fascinate.

Well if you really want some help with the fighting area with a Bard/Rogue, I suggest more ranged combat and buffing of team members. A Bard in combat usually is in the background and give support to the team as best as he can (music abilities, spells, ragned combat etc).. if you want to get your Bard better in combat, I suggest you should consider multiclass to fighter :)

But very creative I must say, and it sure will be a nice weapon for a campaign, if the Dm allows it of course..

A Bard is just not designed for fighting people in Melee, but to outsmart them ;)

Hello, fellow bard lover! Here's my favorite build! The greatest part? He's not really a bard! Seriously, though, I found I could stay more true to the bard's image, and increase my power level, by not taking levels of bard...

Radif Mirge, Artifact Hunter

Chaotic Good Human Ranger 4 / Wizard 1 / Rogue 1 / Lasher 3 / Virtuoso 2 / Spellsword 4 / Sublime Chord 1 / Loremaster 4... and then Loremaster all the way through Epic.

...at any rate, when playing a bard, the whip is your friend. If you're going to be the skill monkey, a single level of rogue is also nice (for trapfinding, and a neat skill boost, especially if you take it at first level). Two levels of fighter are good, too, to help you get Improved Disarm, Improved Trip, and Whirlwind Attack for use with your whip. PrCing for a bard is difficult, as there are few PrC's that give full progression to bard abilities. Unless you're willing to specialize in one area of bardic expertise (Spellcasting: Sublime Chord, Knowledge: Royal Explorer, Bardic Music: Seeker of the Song, etc.), you'll want to stay straight bard after multiclassing a little to pick up some nice abilities (rogue and fighter, as mentioned above).

For your violin weapon, light crossbow won't work. But a modified Spring Loaded Gauntlet would! It's an exotic ranged weapon with a range increment of 20ft, deals 1d4 damage (x2 critical), costs 200gp, and weighs 4 pounds. It's from the Arms and Equipment Guide and Sword and Fist. Too bad it's an exotic weapon, but I can see the logic behind that. Come on, how difficult is it going to be to fire a crossbow when you're also using it to play the violin? You could always just take the -4 penalty to attack -- you're target's denied his dex bonus anyway, although I wouldn't reccomend this.

I had a slightly Martial Bard by going Bard 3/Fighter 1 (he got his good hand cut off so I had to take Fighter to get Two-Weapon Fighting to get rid of the -4 to hit penalty). Unfortunately he died about then... a b**** with a falchion killed him.

But Bard 4/Fighter 2 is a good way to add some oomph to your Bard. Warchanter is another way to keep on boosting your combat prowess.

the best with neutral evil Bard is that you dont have any comitments just to follow the party and irritate party(thats my bard) As i sad earyer i dont like fighting so much but its a part of D&D so would any people suggest a good Boost party Bard.

Im always a pure Bard no multiclass.ok sometimes but yeah...Pure bare are really cool at low level and much more cool at high level...(also the first class i ever playd)

Im not the kond who got all the books, know all the rules etc... I just like the game and let DM decide what the rules are. He dont have to follow all the rules. He can bend them and not use them at all. DMSS (dungeon master says so) is a nice rule we play with...not always working becouse of whyny people that needs rules.

Thnx for the replys of the crossbow weapon...

I think it would be highly amusing just to make a bard with a bagpipe. I'm sure you could find some interesting ideas on what to do with all of the pressure built up in there. I'd bet you'd get more pressure out of that then you would with a blowgun, so maybe you could get your DM to let you add a few extra valves and start firing out lead bullets like a minigun (ok, not that fast, but still). This was one of my friend's ideas but i still have yet to try it.

Why not tip the arrow with drow poison - if you can get your hands on it.
Then if you hit and the half orc survives it goes to sleepy land and then you can run away :P
