| Arafelis12-18-03, 10:47 PM | I've two Bard builds, built around the same theme. I've gotten too attached to either to decide which is better, and I imagine I've missed elements that would create a better overall character within parameters. A: Brd4/Clr1/Mourner (Dragon 311)5/War Chanter 10 Brd1 Nymph's Kiss, Combat Expertise Clr1 War (???), Courage Brd2 Divine Vigor Brd3 Brd4 Mrn1 Leadership Mrn2 Mrn3 Mrn4 Reverbration (Savage Species, "Music" chosen) Mrn5 WrC1 WrC2 Ability Focus: Music ... WrC5 Dragonsong ... WrC8 Words of Creation Concept: Extremely high-save special abilities, bolstered at the end with a self-targeted Inspire Greatness (with Words of Creation for +4 HD), combined (thanks to War Chanter) with any of a number of other potential effects- Inspire Awe being my favorite. Both builds use a Werejaguar (leopard) Champion of Gwynharwyf as a companion, so the shaken effect from Fearsome Fury and Righteous Wrath could potentially be far more powerful. B: Brd3/Ftr2/Holy Liberator (Knight Errant Variant)5/War Chanter10 Brd Nymph's Kiss, Iron Will Ftr Mounted Combat Brd Combat Expertise Brd Ftr Weapon Focus (???) WrC Leadership HLi HLi HLi Ride-By Attack HLi HLi WrC Spirited Charge WrC WrC WrC Trample WrC WrC WrC Calvary Charger WrC WrC The feat selection on this is thanks to watching a couple hundred uruk-hai get trampled yesterday, yes. The Knight Errant version of Holy Liberator is the same as the base class, however, they recieve a Valicorn companion (Ghostwalk Web Enhancement) and Lay on Hands at the cost of their spellcasting and normal Celestial companion. While the other build has an interesting group-support appeal, this one is just too much fun to ignore, and I think it's reasonably powerful. So tell me why I'm wrong and tear 'em apart, kiddos. |
