TheVatican 07-12-06, 07:04 PM	I read somewhere that there is a build that utilizes this class and that the calss is ableto advance as a bard and gets 9th level spells. Can anyone point to the link that has this explanation. I tried looking for it, but it is taking to long cliking on all the previous pages of threads. If someone has a handy link to it on their board banner, that would be great, thanks.
MechaboyDos 07-12-06, 07:22 PM	I don't have a link, but I can explain it pretty quick. The Sublime Chord has a separate spell list from the Bard with a separate progression. The SC spell list goes from 4th to 9th level spells. That's really all there is to it. The only hitch is that the class requires 13 ranks of Perform as a pre-requisite, so you have to be a minimum of 10th level to take it. Most people like to use Sublime Chord to make a Gish (Fighter/Mage) with 9th level spells. Since the SC has a completely separate spell progression from Bard, you can take another prestige class that advances existing spellcasting and apply the increased spellcasting levels to your SC progression. The most popular builds are usually something along the lines of Bard 8/Paladin 2/Sublime Chord 2/Sacred Exorcist 4/Eldritch Knight 4, or Bard 7/Fighter 1/Arcane Archer 2/Sublime Chord 2/Eldritch Knight 8.
The_Monkey_King 07-12-06, 07:23 PM	Sublime chord is straight out of Complete arcane. There isn't a trick to it. bard 10/ Sublime chord 10 works fine for this.
kabof 07-12-06, 10:05 PM	If you think you can handle an evil charcater, there's also the Bard 7/Mindbender 1/Sublime Chord 2/Ur-Priest 2/Mystic Theurge 8. A very potent spellcaster, I must say.
