fastjack 01-22-06, 09:12 PM	Humm Im about to make a bard for the shackled city adventure path. The adventure will be in Forgotten Realms. Im kinda new to bard, and im trying to explore other paths.. i used to play with rogues and monks. My Dm said to me that theres a possibility to become a harper in this adventure, but im not sure if im goin to follow this path. Either way, which books do you gusy recomend to me as a player, to buy in order to optmize my char as a bard? And how do you recomend me to build it?
ZeroEffect 01-24-06, 04:16 AM	Personally, I like the Sublime Chord prestige class (Complete Arcane). You might want to check out builds with the Harper Paragon prestige class (Players Guide to Faerun) as well, since you're playing in the Forgotten Realms. acvar 01-24-06, 11:56 AM	The spell compendium has some great bard spells in it. Other then that I really do not like much of the bard centered stuff. Sublime chord gives up BAB and music power for more spells. If you want to be a spellcaster just play a wizard/cleric/druid and be a spell caster. Bards only need to add PrCs if they want to specialize at something, and even then it can be questionable. In the end you should not be playing a bard if you want to be the big bad spellcaster, or the tank or whatever other role you name. You play a bard because you want to be the face, answer man, and sure I can do that character. Let the more specialized classes do the heavy lifting and take all the credit as you sit back and know that they would not be half as good without you.
