| Oni.Chupacabra10-24-03, 08:24 PM | Hello, Thank you for looking at my thread, currently i am working on my character that i have planned to run from level 1 to the end of time. I have played 3.0 core only for abour 6 months now and got a feel for what i like. I am planning on making a straight cleric build with perhaps one level of barbarian as a base. (hp and flavor of blood lust) My plan is to make a cleric that can handle a well rounded amount of situations as we are going to be play testing a new world and im not sure the type of enviroment we will be in. The weapon will be a scyth and the domains war/trickery (custom god) chaotic neutral and i will be human. What are some feats that i should focus on and what armour would you suggest. I think full plate is the awsome but i need to make sure i can be versatile. We will be doing alot of ruin and dungeon crawling so i want to make sure i can climb, swim ect. My stats that i have rolled on a computer dice generator are ( 18, 17, 16, 16, 11, 12) i know that they are high but my dm allows the generators rolls as acceptable. :: off topic :: what is this 35 point buy stuff people are talking about :: What are the best spells to cast after a time stop? "thanks you for your help" ONI |
| Hanniball10-25-03, 07:39 AM | tjeck the build FAQ or do a search. lotta people around these parts like melee-clerics a lot. type of armor is dependant on style of cleric. obviously a Sacred Fist (DotF) isn't going to wear full plate. mithral breastplate is sweet, IMO. just remember that the heavier the armor the higher the armor tjeck penalty on your jump, climb, and horrible penalty on swim. the best spells to cast after a time stop? during a time stop i assume...depends on whether or not you took the extend/persistant spell feats and have your daily buffs on. if not buff up with divine power/agility, endurance, divine favor and activate divine might. for more just search away... |
| Jeryg10-25-03, 08:29 AM | re to off topic : point buy system is the one that you can find in the DMG at the beginning. pure cleric is always a simple way to do it, but if you're going war and trickery domains (domain powers not being tight to clerical level) you'd be better off taking some PrC. the key is : DO NOT loose caster level. so pick your favorite PrC accordingly. here is a list of nice and easy PrC that follow this guideline : - Divine Disciple - Sacred Exorcist - Mystic Wanderer (if you dont wear any armor, but I really prefer to be in full plate) - Contemplative (a must at level 10+, being only for the prestige domain : mysticism, glory, celerity, etc are good choices) - Divine Oracle (Check the level 2 power : evasion in full plate !) a very powerfull build would be : Cleric 7 / Divine Disciple 1 / Sacred Exorcist 2 / Contemplative x (depending what level your playing, but level 7 should be enough. afterwards, go back to divine oracle for uncanny dodge, or divine disciple up to lev 5 to change you type to "outsider") with this, you get 3 domains from your god, 3 prestige domains (1 is divination, 2 are free choices), evasion in heavy armor, nice bonus to divination, all nifty contemplative powers such as immunity to diseases and poisons, lay on hand like ability, spell resistance etc... you shoud take feats such as (in order of preference) : spellcasting prodigy (FR setting), extend spell, persistent spell, quicken spell, improved init, improved critical, power attack+divine might (if your charisma is 16 at least). get yourself some items that boost your AC, saves and your wisdom and you should be ready for any dungeon. cheers Jery |
