I have a question to those who know about the Battle Jump feat in Unapproachable East. It says you must drop from a height that is 5 feet higher than your opponent. The wording is a bit vaugue and I'm assuming that you could make a jump check while you charge to double your damage. Also, this poses another question. What would that jump check have to be? It says you have to be 5 feet higher than your opponent (taking sizes into account). So for example say you have a medium character using the battle jump feat with the use of a jump, would u have to make a jump check of 5 Feet (High Jump I think) or a jump check of 10? I would think 5 but the wording in the text states something about 10 feet which confuses me a bit. Any enlightenment on this subject is more than welcome because I'm considering using this for my psy war.

The jump check would be a high jump and the DC would be whatever the DC is going to be to drop 5 feet onto your oponent. So you're going to need to ask your DM how tall the thing is, then add five feet to it and figure out the DC for that height. Personally, I think this sucks. It would be better just to take leap attack.

Ok that makes a bit more sense. Thanks a lot Raven. I already have leap attack so I'm wondering how I could use this feat to the best of my ability cuz I could do a crap load of damage with that for sure. I have Up the Walls as a feat and I have featherfall for as long as I want due to a weapon of legacy I have. If there are any suggestions as to how I can achieve the 2x damage let me know. Also, if it helps, I have +16 to jump. So any suggestions will be welcome and thanks again for the help

Do boots of haste provide a bonus to jump when they increase you BLS? I think they do, and if so, thats an additional +12 to jump. And as far as I know the two feats abilities stack.
You could make a pretty mean jumper.

They absolutely do stack. Since you already have Up the Walls, you can just run 10' up, jump 10' horizontally, land next to your opponent, and dish out the mad power charge. Try to get the Valorous enhancement to your weapon. It's another charge doubler, which would take you to triple damage on a Battle Jump. Up the walls removes the need for a high jump check when there's a wall in range, since the horizontal leap is so easy.

Check out Tempest Stormwind's excellent Lancer build, which should give you plenty of ideas to maximize this form of attack.

Where is the Valorous enchantment and what modifier is it?That sounds nasty to me and thanks to everyone for the input. I can't wait to see all the bloody jumping carnage

Valorous is a +1 from Unapproachable East, and doubles your damage on a charge.

The main reason why you'd take Battle Jump over Leap Attack would be the ability to make unusual movements and still have your attack called a "charge" -- the double damage is icing, not the cake. The Up the Walls 10'+, 10'+ Longjump onto the target is a perfect example of this -- you just did a very odd bit of movement, but it nonetheless is considered a "charge", which means both feats kick in, along with things like Valorous or Psionic Lion's Charge.

The Lancer thread linked above contains more information on full-attack chargers at the bottom of the first page. A direct link to the full Lancer post (which is on page 4) is in my signature. This discusses other jump strategies between the two feats, and also provides a link to the heights of different sizes (including the distinction between Long and Tall creatures).

Technically, the UberERcharger (also sigged) is a Lancer taken to its logical conclusion in the damage front.
