| SigmaJargon04-07-05, 07:49 PM | Hulking Hurler Vs The WorldThe Hurler is a stellar example of the heights (or depths) that min/maxing can take a character to - it can deal such a studendously large amount of damage that anything it hits (assuming it to be subject to weapon damage) will be instantly flattened, obliterated, reduced to dust and debris. However, it should be kept in mind that while the Hurler is mind-bogglingly powerful in the realm of damage dealing, he fails in almost every other area. Whack him with a forcecage, a hide n' poke sneak attack rogue, dispel the shrink item or polymorph on his weapon or his buffs. Heck, even face him up against something like a swarm that is immune to weapon damage, and watch his huge ball of doom fly through them with no effect whatsoever. Have a Frenzied Berserker melee him with Deathless Frenzy. Snipe him, perferably from some position he can't reach easily (i.e, in the air). Basically, something or someone in the world certainly can take the Hurler. As long as they win initative ;) Some interesting fights might be: --------------------------------- Optimized Melee Cleric vs. Gish Optimized Melee Cleric vs. Otto's AC build Cleric Archer vs. KSB Snow Combat Archer Artificer vs. Cheater of Mystra Shadowcraft Gnome vs. Supermount Warforged Juggernaut vs. Gish |

His attack gets transmuted to an AOE with meteoric strike (IIRC). And I think the guy actually intended HH versus the world itself, not versus the people within the world... |

You know it all depends on how you're reading things. In any case, you're right: the Artificer, as the single most poorly balanced class ever designed, and yet another reason I will never ever go near an Eberron game, can do anything it damned well pleases. :D |
