Patryn 06-08-05, 04:00 PM	When explaining Bear Form, CW says both "His only limit on the number of times per day he can assume a bear form is the numer of times per day he enters a rage or frenzy,..." and then it goes on to say things like "Any bear warrior can assume the form of a black bear once per day." Could someone clarify this?
palebear 06-08-05, 04:06 PM	Yeah, I had the same question. I'm assuming the second sentence should read," Any bear warrior can assume the form of a black bear at least once per day. I don't have anything official on this though... -pb
Jenos 06-08-05, 04:07 PM	A bear warrior may take the bear form 1/day for each bear form he has unlocked. That means, a level 8 Barb/1 Bear warrior may rage 3/day, and in one of those rages, become a Black Bear. When that same barb reaches Barb 8/Bear Warrior 5, he may still rage 3/day, but on 2 of those 3 rages, he may choose to take either black bear OR brown bear form, whichever he pleases. When he reaches Barb 8/BW 7, he can rage 4/day, and on any 2 of those rages, become either a black or a brown bear, whiever he wants. When he reaches Barb 8/Bear warrior 10, he may rage 4/day, and 3 times per day when he rages, he may take the form of Black Bear, Brown Bear, or Dire Bear.

necrosnoop110 06-08-05, 04:42 PM	It's another example in a long list of proofing error. If I was DM I would allow bear forms up to the number of rages.

However, I can see this being only used 3/day. If being able to use bear form whenever you rage seems too good. Its an amazing version of rage. +20 str vs +8 at Barb level 20. Not only that, but you turn large, so you can wield your greatsword in one hand now. Its priemer ability shouldn't be used that often. Otherwise, a level 8 Barb/10 Bear warrior can take the feat Extra Rage twice, and be able to take bear form 8/day? That doesn't seem right either. Then a 1 level dip into Bear Warrior would be amazing. You can be a level 17 Barb/1 Bear Warrior/2 Warshaper, and kick some serious ass. Sure, you don't get the level 20 rage, but who needs it, seeing as you can take brown bear form whenever you normally rage? I interpreted that bear form may not be taken more times per day then you have rage. Meaning that a level 1 Barb/6 Fighter/10 Bear Warrior can't turn into Bear Form 3/day, only 2/day because it can only rage 2/day.
palebear 06-08-05, 05:35 PM	... you turn large, so you can wield your greatsword in one hand now. How are you using the greatsword, exactly? You are a bear, right? I don't see the ability to turn into bear form as many times as you can rage as over powered at all. If I want the Dire version, I have to give up 10 levels of some other class which could be buffing me more efficiently. If I choose to use a feat on more Extra Rages, then I'm losing the chance to take feats that would give me different advantages. These are all trade-offs, and overall are quite balanced. Hmmm... clarification would be good on this one though. When's that errata for Complete Warrior coming out again? ;) -pb
