Is the Beastskin armor special ability a good one? Wild is +3 and Beastskin is +2, and you get the same effect except for the Wildshape uses.

Beastskin has a CL of 13 so it can't be made as quickly as a Wild armor (CL 9). Plus Wild can be put into a shield were Beastskin can't. If you have a lot of cash and the ability to buy what you want then Beastskin is nice but if your cash strapped and it's hard to find items I like wild on a shield (our group has an artificer that can add this at 7th level). Plus I always like to have a wildshape left for special situations.

Caster level entries are not the same as caster level prerequisites, only stuff like scrolls/wands/staffs/golems/etc have caster level prerequisites (see the FAQ and the DMG errata). Beastskin has no caster level prerequisite.

It just has a caster level to create it. Sorry I should have made it clearer. My DMs tend to be stingy. I overcompensate by optimizing. :D
