Looking at the shadowbane stalker class in Complete Adventurer. First, is it a good class? And what would be the best route to take for this class?

Rogue 1/cleric 9/shadowbane stalker 10?
Rogue 5/cleric 5/shadowbane stalker 10?
Rogue 3/ranger 2/cleric 5/shadowbane stalker 10?

Any suggestions on feats? I'm interested in archery, but maybe that doesn't work here. I'm also sure some metamagic feats would be useful.

All builds are subject to DM approval, but I think 4 total classes (base and prestige) would be the limit.

Ah, second time in two days that I recommend the Ninja as entry for the ShadStalk.

1st - the class is very nice and flavorful. You won't be the best divine guy in the group, but a very good secondary (+ a heavy focus on stealth and defense, have a look at the cool class features)

2nd - try:
Ninja 1/Cleric 3/Ninja 1/Shadowbane Stalker 10
This build has nice Wis synergies (to AC, spells, perceptive skills...)
OR
Ninja 1/Soulknife 2/Cleric 2/Ninja +1/Cleric +1/Soulbow 1/Shadowbane Stalker 10
Even more Wis synergies + Archery style (Wis to AC, to dmg, + as above)

I think both builds are playable from early on, the second build kicks in a bit later though.

If you go the Rogue/Ninja route without Soulbow, I recommend the following feats:
-Improved Init.
-(Improved) Two-Weapon Fighting
-Craven
-Weapon Finesse

If you go the second route (the sniper route), go for all archery feats you like... (you'll get some for free if you play an Elf with the Elf domain, you'll get Weapon Focus from the Soulknife; all in all the second build is quite open on feat slots).

Hope this helps a bit

EJ

EDIT: 4 classes limit? Mh, then you should forget the Soulbow-build. But, it's sooo flavorful.

Well maybe this will help. . .

The party consists of a Lv4 Half-elf Duskblade, Lv4 Human Rogue, Lv4 Elf Druid/Wizard, and Lv4 Human Sword/board Fighter.

I think a cleric can help, especially in regards to undead. I was going to play a ranger, and still am considering it, but this class sounds really interesting. I've never played a cleric so I'm reluctant to jump right in and play straight 20 cleric. I'm more used to playing rogues or dex fighter types so this would be an easier transition.

Does the ninja's sudden strike ability work for the prc's requirements? What book is soulknife in?

sudden strike counts as sneak attack for all intents and purposes
soulknife is in one o the psionic books, soulbw is in complete psionics

ahh. I'm sorry for not mentioning, but at this point no psionics are allowed in the campaign.

Also, is there a feat that boosts caster level? I thought I remembered there being one.

I really like the concept of the soulbow/shadowbane, even though I'm pretty ignorant with psionics. If you can try pushing in your DM though, the Soulknife and Soulbow are sort of "psionic-lite", as they don't really have psionic powers per se. They just generate weapons via psionics. You could easily just say that they generate their abilities through magic.
