| Ivarrius02-25-05, 03:21 PM | I know there are many builds out there that make little use of Armor, yet still come out with insanely high AC. But for those of us out there with a low Dex, or Clerics like myself who wish to wear the full plate armor, is there any way to raise that touch AC and protect ourselves a little bit from such attacks? I am already going for the libris mortis spell that protects you from ability drain, energy drain etc, But as far as Touch, I am at a loss. Any info? I am sure there are others out there who would appreciate having this info as well. |

There's also Deflective Armor, from Races of Stone, which applies your entire armor bonus (from heavy armor only) to your touch AC. It is a psionic feat, however, so it will require a psionic race or class, or the Wild Talent feat. |

Take Leadership and make your cohort a spiked chain-wielding warrior type with the Combat Expertise, Improved Combat Expertise(CW), and Allied Defense (Shining South) feats. He stands next to you, uses Expertise for his Full BAB, and you gain the same value as a dodge bonus to your AC. |

| Part-Human202-26-05, 10:57 PM | A Psionic Feat called Deflective Armor from RoS requires Heavy Armor Optimisation and the abilty to have Psionic Focus. Astral Driftmetal from Planar HB works vs incorporeal touch attacks. |

Bracers of Armor and Inertial Armor both are force effects, but if you're looking to defeat ALL touch attacks, and not just incorporeal ones, it's a bit more tricky. Wilders do add their CHA bonus to touch attacks, but that requires a 2-level dip. Do you want to become a Psionicist//Cleric or would you rather stick with straight divine? Carnivore's Monk's Belt suggestions is an old standby -- no, it doesn't stack with normal AC...but since we're not using it for that... =) The Leadership feat. No, really. If you tack 2 levels of Marshal on there, IIRC you get to apply your cohort's CHA mod to your AC. Could be wrong on that though. |
