| tarbrush11-05-06, 02:32 PM | So, I've just discovered the wonders of beguilers. I didn't realise how good they were. Then I thought about how much better they'd be when combined with sublime chord. So, my cunning plan was to take: Beguiler 6 XXX 3 Warrior Skald/Bard1 Sublime Chord 2 YYY 8 Or possible Beguiler 4, Human Paragon 3, XXX 2, Warrior Skald 1 etc So, what to do with the remaining levels? The build doesn't need caster levels at all for levels 7-9 because of SC, so I was thinking that that would be a good way to make a gish, or other doubly type build. Problem is, taking another casting type thing probably wouldn't be worth it as you'd only ever get 11 casting levels. I'll likely take able learner to continue the skillmonkey thing, so if one of the 3 XXX levels had perform as a class, skill, that'd be super. So, should he be a pure spellcaster/skillmonkey, if so, how? Or can I make a gish out of this? |

FYI, this doesn't really work this way without a lot of planning. Why? Because Bard is your lowest spellcasting class, meaning you would be forced to advance bard spell progression. |

I wouldn't recommend either idea, since it puts your caster level & spells known way behind a straight beguiler. If you're trying to increase you spell variety, check out the Shadowcraft Mage Handbook for some interesting ideas... |
