i have a character idea though i am not at all certain if it's a halfway decent idea or not. the intent is to be an elven resident of silverymoon. the hitch is that at level 1 this character is an expert, not a normal class. the theory is that i will most likly dual class the character, but not necessarily. i want to let the adventure and the campaign essentially mold this character. for example: while adventuring he noticed that his friends have a tendancy to get hurt, so at level 2 he takes a level of cleric. another example would be: sometime durring level one he got is butt handed to him in a battle, so at level 2 he takes fighter in an effort to make that not happen again. the way i figure it the pros are 10 skills of my choice as class skills and pretty decent RP value. the cons are that i wouldn't have any special abilities of the core classes, what do you guys think? (i'm going to post this in multiple threads, sorry if you read it more than once)

This is not really min/max, it is trying to do real-life adaptability in a system that dosen't support it. Try Alternity or GURPS.
