| DudeMan10104-17-04, 12:31 AM | Far from simply asking advice on selection of metamagic feats, I present a more complicated situation. I am planning my Feat progression for a human wizard. In this campaign, we use a spontaneous metamagic variant from Unearthed Arcana, that allows a metamagic feat to be applied spontaneous with no cost, but you only have 3 uses per day. BUT, taking the same feat again gives you 3 uses. Otherwise, the metamagic feats avalible to me are from the 3.0 PHB and 3.0 Tomb and Blood. This is my first wizard, and the first time I've encountered this variant. The feats I have taken alraedy are: Scribe Scroll(automatic for wiz), Quick Draw (applies to items in containers, according to my DM), Spell Focus(Evocation), Great Spell Focus(Evocation), Craft Wondrous Item, and Craft Magic Arms and Armor. I plan to take Craft Staff at 13. I am currently level 5. If it seems that I have more feats then normal, it's because I took 2 flaws, and got 2 bonus feats because of them. I'll be taking 3 levels in Human Paragon(Unearthed Arcana) for 6, 7, and 8. The first level of paragon doesn't count towards caster level. I'll get future pre-epic feats at 6(char level), 7(paragon bonus, choose any), 9(char level), 12(char level), 13(Wizard bonus, taking Craft Staff here), 15(char level), 18(char level AND wizard bonus). The question is thus: What would be an excelent feat progression for such a wizard? Edit: It is worth noting that, due to several new players (not me, but I still benifit), the DM is being lenient, and until level 6, we can change out selected feats. |
