I am getting a character ready for a group next weekend, and needed a new 4th level char. No psionics, but most else. Heres my idea...

Swashbuckler 3, Duskblade 1 (from here on...) Gold Elf (RofF)
S 14, D 16, C 12, I 20, W 8, Ch 8

Feats: Mind over Body (Regional- Free- Houserule) INT to HP at 1st
WF Elven Thinblade +1 to hit
Still Spell
Weapon Finesse Dex to hit w/ thinblade
Swashbuckler class abilities give advantages when light weapon one handed, get INT to damage?!

Adds up to +8 to hit w/ thinblade, and 1d8+7, 18-20x2

Anybody see ways I can maximize my INT to do better?

Don't water duskblade down with swashbuckler. The bonus damage looks nice on paper, but a straight duskblade is so much better.

I will use the same race and stats as your build and put all levels in Duskblade and if we fight here is how it will go down. Except I will use 16 strength instead of 16 Dex

1st level Sudden Still
3rd level Sudden Maximize

Lets assume I also have same house rule feat for Mind over Body and we both have max hitpoints. 40 for me and 48 for you.

I will even let you go first and cast a immediate action spell Lesser Deflect gain +2 to my AC
on my turn I cast a swift action spell called Blade of Blood and take the 5hp to gain an extra +3d6 damage with my rapier and then use sudden maximize to channel a shocking grasp into my rapier. Now I hit you for 1d6 rapier +3d6 blade of blood +24 shocking grasp +3 strength.
You are still alive though and if you don't turn and run on second round I do the same thing again except for maximizing the shocking for a minimum of 1 rapier+3 blade of blood +3 str + 4 shocking for 11 points and you are unconcious.

This is assuming that Sudden Maximize can be channeled.

Point being I was bored and wanted something to do anyway. If you want to take Duskblade don't multiclass at all. You are so not needing to take anything else.

However in your build you have not taken exotic weapon Elven Thinblade, is this another houserule that elves get it free like dwarves and dwarven waraxe? Or is there a rule I haven't seen yet?

If you want to keep your build thats cool. Swashbuckler really adds the synergy with skills and Int bonus to damage. Take Practiced Spellcaster feat as well and if you continue to max out your Int get Insightful Reflexes to add Int bonus to reflex saves instead of dex.

Yeah, you are probably right, but I cant get the idea out of my head, of a swashbuckling elf warrior, perhaps a Champion of Corellon in the future? Dont have books in front of me, gotta see if that would work...

You can't cast an immediate action spell in the same round you cast a swift spell.

I didn't I cast it on his turn while I let him go first to attack me gaining an immediate +2 to AC.

I believe it has shared proficiency with rapier, which elves get.

The shared proficiency comes with Exotic Weapon Proficiency (Elven Thinblade) at which point any feat for longsword or rapier (weapon foc, weapon spec, etc.) can be used with the thinblade.

The Duskblade can be played flamboyant and swishy-poke (SW)-like. You don't need to water it down, and it makes him TONS less effective!

Have you house-ruled one of those to be your favoured class? Otherwise the xp penalties will suck.
