| tiluvias9906-09-06, 04:24 PM | Can anyone help me figure out some good animals to transform into as a 6th level druid? I was thinking Lion and Brown Bear, but I can't change into those until level 8 (they are large). Pretty much all of the animals that are either medium or small only have (at most) 2-3 hit dice, which seems kind of... mediocre. Is there something I'm missing? |
| Surreal06-09-06, 04:42 PM | I think the best MM1 animal is the deinonychus (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/dinosaur.htm#deinonychus). If you have more books, your options are a little better. |
| tiluvias9906-09-06, 04:49 PM | Ah, thanks. I forgot that that had been changed from the original MM, where it is large. |
| djinni06-09-06, 05:24 PM | what are you trying to do? |
| Valanthe06-09-06, 06:30 PM | What other options are there for medium creatures from other sources? |
| Thomas_Covenant06-09-06, 10:23 PM | The Fleshraker Dinosaur (MM3) is downright disgusting.... It will probably beat everything until you hit large size. |
| Caelic06-09-06, 11:03 PM | Ditto that. The Fleshraker actually stays competitive for quite a long time. It's easily the best low-level option. |
| Hack and Smasher06-10-06, 03:09 PM | dire weasel and crocdile aren't bad medium monster manuel choices, also black bears and cheeta's have there use's |
| _J_06-10-06, 03:15 PM | The Druid Handbook (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=465005) has pretty big lists of the best forms to take, even if it's a little outdated. |
